Requested by coffee_addict 2005: Y/N is Wanda's sister, her, Wanda and Pietro were triplets. She has super strength, but Peter doesn't know this. Her and Peter hate each other, especially because Peter doesn't know about her abilities and has never seen her fight. On their first mission alone together, Y/N gets cornered and Peter watches as she kicks ass. This makes Peter see her differently and so they become friends and then eventually end up dating
Wanda's energy shot into my stomach, making me cry out as it sent me flying backwards. I landed on the crash mats with a groan, squeezing my eyes shut as I rolled onto my back and held my side.
"What did mom always used to tell you about being observant?" my sister sighed as she walked towards me.
"That I need to be more observant." I nodded, making her chuckle. I was Y/N Maximoff, the slightly less known triplet. When our parents had died, my brother, my sister and I had volunteered to be test subjects in a HYDRA experiment that was meant to create genetically enhanced soldiers. We had ended up being the only ones to survive. My brother, Pietro, had come out of the grueling trials with super speed, making it easy for the three of us to whip around and cause trouble as I'd just hop onto his back and he'd carry our sister bridal style. My sister, Wanda, had developed powers in the form of mind control and energy that she could use to bend the will of anyone that she met. I had gained the ability of super strength, a power that had proven very beneficial in my time with it. But everything had changed a few years ago. During the fight on Sokovia when we officially joined the Avengers by helping to take down Ultron, the fight had ended with only two of us coming out alive. Both Wanda and I had felt it as the bullets ripped through Pietro's body, our hearts feeling like they were being torn out as we felt him die. We had gone from a family of five, to just the two of us. The ordeal had made Wanda and I closer, though, for which I was grateful for. It was just painful that we had to lose our brother for that to happen. I snapped back as Wanda reached out a hand to me. I took it and let her pull me up before catching her off guard by shoving my foot onto her stomach. My super strength meant that the kick threw her across the room, making her groan as she landed against the crash maths just like I had done a moment before.
"Okay, I deserved that." she nodded, making me chuckle and shake my head.
"Wow, Y/N actually won, did she?" we both looked to the side, my eyes rolling as Peter walked into the training centre.
"Fuck off, Peter." I scoffed.
"Hey, Y/N, that's not how we talk to friends." Wanda jokingly scolded as she stood up and brushed herself off.
"We're not friends." I shook my head.
"Yeah, no." Peter returned, making me clench my jaw at him. Peter Parker, where did I start with him? We'd first been introduced a year ago, and had hated each other ever since. Well, he hated me. I actually thought that he was very attractive, and I even had a bit of a crush on him. Until he'd started being a dick to me about my powers. Since my ability was super strength, it was slightly harder to show him that yes, I did deserve to be here, this being made worse by the fact that he'd never seen me fight. The cheeky fucker legitimately thought that I didn't deserve to be on the team, no matter how much Tony and Wanda defended me. And so, despite the fact that I still had a bit of a crush on the attractive boy, we still hated each other.
"Pete, how do you fancy trying your luck in a fight with Y/N?" Wanda smiled at the boy, making me shoot daggers at her. My sister was all too aware of my crush on him, but she also knew that we didn't like each other. And so she'd made it her mission to finally make us a thing. Something that I both loved and hated her for.
"Are you kidding? I'd knock her out by poking her." he scoffed as he crossed his arms over his chest. I rolled my eyes and looked at Wanda.
"If only he knew, Y/N." she chuckled and shook her head.
"Wanda, shut up." I replied through gritted teeth.
"I hate to split up this friendly sibling fighting, but I'm not here to fight. Mr Stark told me to come get you, he needs to brief us on something." he nodded. I looked at him.
"All three of us?" Wanda asked.
"No. Just me and Y/N." Peter mumbled, his jaw clenching as he looked at me again.
"Wish me luck, Wan." I sighed as I walked towards Peter.
"You'll need it." she chuckled, making me roll my eyes as we headed out of the training room.
"You summoned us?" I asked as Peter and I walked into the control room of the Tower.
"Yup. I have your first mission as a pair." he smiled. My eyes widened, as did Peter's as we looked at each other.
"Sorry...us...as a pair...as in the two of us?" Peter scoffed as he gestured between us with his finger.
"Yes, Pete, that is what a pair is. I thought that you were meant to be smart." Tony teased. Peter and I exchanged glances again.
"But we hate each other." I stated, my eyes widening slightly as Peter sighed and looked down at my words. Why was he acting like he was hurt by that?
"Well, this will help. You can't hate people in a team where you have to be relied upon to save each other's lives. If you're in trouble, you need to be able to trust the other person." Tony nodded. I sighed and returned it, knowing that our mentor was right ultimately.
"What's the mission, then?" Peter sighed as we all gathered around the electronic table. Tony swiped his hand over it, making us look at the holograms that emerged from it. My eyes widened as the hologram showed a 3D map. Of a HYDRA building.
"Tony, tell me that you're not asking us to do what I think that you are." I gulped.
"What? What's he asking us to do?" Peter asked, his eyebrows furrowing as he looked between us. I looked at Tony.
"Go on. Tell him." he encouraged with a nod. I sighed and pointed at the hologram.
"That's HYDRA's security room. It's right in the heart of their Boston base. And our mission, I'm assuming, is to steal data." I stated.
"Bingo." Tony nodded as Peter's eyes widened.
"T-that sounds very dangerous, especially for a first mission." Peter gulped.
"It is. But it's the only way that you'll learn to finally work together. You need each other in this mission, remember that. Suit up." he nodded. Peter and I sighed and exchanged one more glance before leaving the room.
I kicked my foot into the guard's chest, sending him flying back. He launched into the wall, the impact knocking him out as he fell to the floor.
"Have you reached the security room, Pete?" I asked into comms as I shoved my foot into another door, making it fly open.
"Don't call me, Pete, we're not friends. But yes, I'm here." he replied, making me roll my eyes as I strolled into the room that I'd just opened. I sighed, my eyes scanning over the machinery whose purposes were unknown to me.
"Peter, I'm clear here-." I turned around and stopped abruptly, my eyes widening as the guard that I'd just knocked out was now awake, and was standing in my way.
"Pete, I'm cornered." I gulped, the guard smirking as he walked forward and I walked backwards.
Peter's P.O.V
Peter stood in the security room, his fingers typing away as he loaded HYDRA's data onto the memory stick that Tony had given him for the mission.
"Have you reached the security room, Pete?" Y/N asked into comms.
"Don't call me, Pete, we're not friends. But yes, I'm here." he replied, his eyes flicking up to the camera as he saw Y/N walking into one of the rooms through the lens.
"Peter, I'm clear here-." she turned around and stopped abruptly, making Peter's eyes widen as a guard came into the shot. Standing between Y/N and her escape.
"Pete, I'm cornered." she gulped, Peter returning it as the guard started to corner her.
"Y/N, shit, the data isn't finished downloading yet, can you hold him off for two minutes?" Peter asked. He saw her lips curl into a smirk over the camera.
"What's she planning?" he mumbled to himself.
"Sure. I can take him." she nodded before jumping. Peter's eyes widened as he watched Y/N wrap her legs around the guard's face, him desperately trying to get her off. It didn't work, though. Y/N spun him around before slamming him down and rolling off of him.
"What the fuck?" Peter whispered. How had Y/N taken down that massive guard so easily, unless...Peter's eyes widened and he looked back at the screen to see the guard starting to get back up. Y/N raised her foot into his chest and sent him flying out of shot, the force of which made the camera shake.
"She has super strength...fuck." he scoffed and shook his head. It was then that Peter knew that he'd fucked up. He hadn't known that Y/N had abilities since he'd never seen her fight. He had always assumed that she'd only gotten onto the team through Wanda and Pietro. That being said, it made sense that she was also gifted. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He'd always given her shit because he'd felt like she didn't deserve to be there, but underneath that, he thought that she was really nice, and was actually pretty attractive. He'd just been too blinded by his own self-righteous bullshit.
"I'm good here, Peter." Y/N's voice coming through comms snapped him out of his thoughts, making him gulp and look back at the cameras.
"S-so am I. Meet you by the jetti." he replied. He saw Y/N nod to herself before she left the room and the shot. Peter sighed, knowing that he had to talk to Y/N when they got back.
Y/N's P.O.V
Peter and I walked off of the jetti and towards the Tower, making me smile as Wanda rushed out to meet us.
"You're okay, thank god." she sighed in relief as she tightly hugged me. I returned the hug and smiled into her hair.
"It was cake, I'm fine." I reassured her. She smiled and bit her lip as she pulled away and cupped my cheek.
"Go shower, you smell." she teased. I laughed and shook my head as I started to head into the building.
"Y/N, wait." I turned around, my smile dipping as Peter jogged towards me.
"Let me guess, you want to tell me how shit and useless I was on the mission." I nodded. He sighed and awkwardly scratched the back of his neck as he looked down.
"No, um...I saw you take that guard out. I saw it over the cameras. I know that you have super strength. You have abilities." he stated as he looked back at me. I sighed and bit my lip as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I sure hope that an apology is coming." I spoke.
"Definitely, I'm so sorry. I thought that you didn't deserve to be here, I didn't think that you had abilities, and I'm so sorry for that. I was a dick when I had no right to be." he shook his head.
"You were." I agreed, making him sigh and look down.
"But it's okay. We all make mistakes. How about we start afresh?" I suggested. His eyes widened and he looked back up at me.
"Really? You're willing to do that?" he asked hopefully.
"Sure, Peter. It always helps to have a friend on the team. Someone that you can trust." I nodded. He smiled and bit his lip.
"Thanks, Y/N. I appreciate you giving me a second chance." he admitted.
"It's okay, Pete. I'll see you around." I smiled, making him return it as I turned to leave.
~Two months later~
Yawns left my lips, my eyes barely open as I wandered half-awake into the living room. Peter looked up at me from the sofa and chuckled at my state.
"Morning, babe." he spoke as I sat down next to him and immediately rested my head on his shoulder, his arm curling around my waist.
"Hmm." I mumbled tiredly, making him laugh as he kissed my head. Peter and I had become really good friends after he had apologised to me, and after a month of friendship, Peter had asked me out. I had been shocked considering that we'd only been talking again for a month, but I had happily said yes. And so here we were, a month later, and extremely happy with each other.
"What do you want to do today?" Peter mumbled into my hair.
"I want to watch TV and cuddle. Nothing more." I shook my head, making him laugh.
"Sure, angel. We can watch TV and cuddle." he chuckled. I smiled and looked up at him, making him lean down and join our lips. I returned the kiss, holding his face before breaking it. I put my head on his chest and my hand on his stomach, his arm pulling me further into his body as he turned the TV on.
