Requested by Mcfrog12345: Y/N and Tom are married and find a box in their attic while they are cleaning it out that was made when they were a young couple. They open it and it's full of stuff from early in their relationship
I did up the clips on my dungarees and tied my hair back into a pony-tail, getting myself ready for the day that would be spent clearing out the attic with my husband, Tom Holland.
"You ready, darling?" Tom asked as he appeared at the doorway with a couple of cardboard boxes. I nodded and bit my lip as I concentrated on tying up the few whisps of hair left behind.
"Wow." Tom mumbled. I looked at him.
"What?" I asked.
"I just, I never thought that dungarees, my old t-shirt and a pony-tail would turn me on, but here we are." He teased. I playfully rolled my eyes at him as I walked to him.
"We're throwing a lot of stuff away today, babe, so I need this head, not the one down below, okay?" I retorted back, making Tom smirk as I gently tapped his nose.
"You can have the other one too if you like." He spoke.
"Let's see how we get on today." I nodded, though still smirking and winking at my husband. He returned the smirk as he grabbed the latch that connected to the attic and pulled down. The latch opened, making the ladder open up to us.
"Ladies first." He nodded. I smiled at him as I started to climb the ladder. Though, I soon realised why Tom had let me go first as he smacked my ass, making me squeal. I looked down at him.
"Are you going to be this sexually frustrated all day? Because if the answer is "yes", I'll go change!" I laughed.
"I'm sure that I'll survive." He teased, making me playfully roll my eyes as he started climbing up the ladder and we climbed into the attic.
Tom and I sat in the attic, sorting through box after box of old things. I opened one box and my eyes widened.
"Oh my god." I mumbled, my eyes scanning over the words "Tom and Y/N forever" in red glittery pen. Tom looked at me.
"What is it, darling?" he asked, moving closer to me to see what it was as he wrapped an arm around my waist.
"Do you remember this?" I scoffed as I carefully pulled the shoe-box out of the larger box. Tom's eyes widened.
"Oh, Jesus. I haven't seen that thing in five years." He returned my scoff.
"I won't lie, I'd completely forgotten that we'd even made this." I chuckled.
"Me too. It was so long ago now." He smiled and shook his head. I bit my lip and looked at him.
"Do you remember that day? The day that we made this?" I asked.
"Yeah, darling. Of course I do. One of the best days of my life, second only to marrying you." He nodded. I smiled and bit my lip as I looked down at the box, memories flooding back as I opened it.
"Tommy, look at all of this stuff." I scoffed as we started to pull the movie and gig tickets out of the box.
"Look. I remember taking this on our first date." He smiled, making me return it as he pulled out the Polaroid photo that showed Tom kissing my cheek as I smiled at the camera. I bit my lip, trying to stop tears from falling as we continued to pull memories out of the box. I gently took the journal out, smiling to myself as I opened it to reveal yet more photos that Tom and I had taken together in the first year of our relationship. Everything from our first date, to after-sex selfies of us cuddling and smiling, to photos that Harry had taken of us at family events. It was all there, and it all made my heart flutter.
"Oh, darling." Tom mumbled, making me look at him. I choked, a smile on my lips as he pulled out the small dog plushie toy out of the box.
"Oh my god, I haven't seen that toy since the day that we made this box." I choked, taking the soft toy gently into the palm of my hand as I let more memories come back to me.
"Tommy, come on!" I squealed, pulling my boyfriend of six months along the pier and towards the arcade that sat at the end of the wooden structure.
"I'm coming!" he laughed as we ran into the arcade.
"What are we doing first, darling?" he smiled, chuckling and shaking his head at me as I looked around the arcade room like an excited puppy.
"The claw games." I nodded before running to a machine filled with stuffed toys.
"You're honestly like a child sometimes, sweetheart." He stated, making me smile at him before putting a coin into the machine and starting to play. I manoeuvred the claw and tried to get the toy, quietly cursing as it dropped.
"You got this, babe, just concentrate." Tom reassured. I nodded and bit my lip, trying to ignore the feeling of Tom's hands on my waist and his chin on my head as I put another coin in. I sighed, giving the machine three more coins but the claw dropped the toy every time.
"Let me help, darling." He mumbled. My eyebrows furrowed as I tried to figure out how he'd help, but I soon figured it out as Tom put his arms over mine before resting his hands over mine. I couldn't help but smile and bite my lip as he started to use his hands on top of mine to manoeuvre the controls.
"This is nice." I mumbled.
"Shh, I'm trying to win you a plushie." He whispered, making me smile as he kissed the side of my head. Tom moved the claw and grabbed a purple dog plushie toy before lifting it up. My eyes widened as he dropped it. Right into the slot.
"YES!" I screamed, making Tom laugh as he bent down and grabbed the toy. He looked at me.
"For my love, on our six-month anniversary." He nodded, looking into my eyes as he gave it to me. I bit my lip and gently took the toy.
"I love it, Tommy." I whispered.
"And I love you." He spoke, making me smile as he leant down and joined our lips together.
"What's next then?" Tom asked as we walked hand-in-hand through the arcade. I sighed and looked around, seeing if anything else caught my eye. Suddenly, something did. I smiled at Tom and looked up at him, making him look at what I had spotted. He sighed but chuckled as he looked at me.
"I'm up for that." He nodded. I smiled and leant up to peck his cheek before pulling him to the photo booth. We got in, me taking a seat on Tom's lap so that we could both fit in. Tom started the countdown, making us both smile at the camera as he held my waist and we smiled at the camera. The flash went off, making my smile widen as Tom kissed my cheek for the next photo. The photo was taken, my smile widening again as Tom leant in and kissed my neck for the next shot, making me lean my head back to give him more access. The flash went off and I leant down to kiss him for the final photo. He smiled into it and held my face as the final photo was taken.
I sat on the sofa, watching TV with a glass of wine. I looked up and smiled at Tom as he walked in, holding a shoe-box.
"What's that for?" I asked as he sat down next to me. He looked at me.
"Promise that you won't laugh at me." He spoke. My eyebrows furrowed.
"Why would I laugh at you?" I chuckled. He bit his lip and looked at the shoe-box.
"I had an idea, because today has been so amazing. I suggest that we decorate this box all nicely, and then we put notes, Polaroid photos, and our journal of photos into it. Sort of like a memory box." He nodded.
"Tommy, why would you think that I'd laugh at you for that? I love the idea." I scoffed and shook my head, making him smile at me. He opened the box and tipped out the contents, making my eyes widen as a load of arts-and-crafts supplies spilled out onto the table.
"You came prepared, huh." I chuckled, making him smile.
"Let's get decorating."
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I stared at the plush toy, as well as the strip of photos that we'd taken that day. How young we both looked.
"Hey." Tom chuckled as he wrapped his arms around my waist, making me look at him.
"What are you crying for, sweetheart?" he smiled, raising his thumb to gently wipe the tears away from my face. I shook my head and gave him a small smile as I looked at the box of stuff.
"No, it's just...they're all lovely memories. From when we were so much younger. From when our relationship was so much younger." I sniffed.
"What are you talking about, darling? We're still young, our relationship is still young. I mean, sure, we're married, but we're not even thirty yet. Don't go old on me yet." He chuckled, making me laugh and look at him as he gently moved strands of hair out of my face. I shook my head.
"I know that we're still young, this box just brought back a lot of memories. About the awkwardness on the first few dates because we both liked each other but were so scared of making the other one uncomfortable that we did nothing more than hold hands. About how we became more comfortable around each other within weeks, and that's how I knew that I'd marry you one day. About the day that you proposed, and I'd never felt happier than that moment." I whispered and shook my head. Tom smiled and bit his lip as he looked at me, his hand raising to cup my cheek.
"It brought back a lot of memories for me too, sweetheart. And sure, they were amazing, but I wouldn't go back there, not for anything, you want to know why?" he asked. I nodded, making him chuckle.
"Because if I went back, I'd miss the memories that we're making now." He whispered. I smiled and looked down, making him kiss the side of my head. I nodded and put the lid back on the box before looking back at him.
"Let's take it downstairs. I want to live in the present as much as you do, but there's no shame in sometimes looking back at the journey that got us here." I shook my head.
"I agree, darling. We'll take it down after we're done, yeah?" he asked. I nodded and smiled at him, making him return it as he leant in and kissed me. I returned the kiss, holding his face. He broke the kiss, giving my lips one more peck before we continued to clean out the attic.
