Chapter 15

I really hate being woken up on my sleep. At first it was the kids running up and down the passage now it's someone knocking at my door. Don't people get it, it's a Sunday for crying out loud. Rest day!!!

"Come in" I yell in frustration. Ma walks in with a tray. Isn't she sweet? I smile at her

"I heard you are your dad's daughter so I made you summer tea" she says. I smile even more

"Thank you ma" I say and she seats on the chair next to the dressing table. I sit up straight.

"You welcome. So now that you have sipped my tea. You don't stand a chance to say no. We are going to church" she says with a smile

"Hhaw Ma did you put portion on my tea" I ask and she laughs.

"Yes. We need to go pray so that you find a man and have kids" she says smiling. I laugh

"Hhay bo I am good. I'll pass on that one" I say and she laughs

"Hhay ngiyadela (I give up). I am going to church don't you want to join me" she says. I can do with some congregation. It's been a while since I went to church

"I am definitely going with you" I say. Wait what church are we going to

"Ma what kind of church are we going to?" I ask

"Methodist." She says standing up with the tray. It's good cause we've been going there since

"Okay then. Let me prepare. I hope the dresses I have here still fit" I say.

"Alright then we will meet when you are done" she says walking out

I stand up and look for clothes in my wardrobe. Thank goodness I left my black dress, this one is definitely going to fit me. I am going to wear it with my sandals. I then make my bed and go bath. I miss my place at times like this. Having to go to the bathroom and come back is a lot off work. Rolling my eyes. After I am done I pick my handbag and threw my car keys in there. I don't want to find Konke gone with my car to his friends. My phone disturbs my movements. It's Zweli I smile and answer. What's the smile for Talitha?!

"Talitha from Dlomo holdings how May I help you" by the time I am done he is laughing loud

"Mxm. You are such a bore wena (you). What's with the formalities?" He asks and I laugh

"Nawe (also you) what's with the calling on weekend. You know I can't even fart without thinking that you will call" I say and he laughs

"Hhay Talitha when are you coming back Khanya has been asking about you and she says you promised to do lunch together" He says. Couldn't he say he misses me. Oh so you like him? The annoying voice. Whatever!!!

"I'll call her on when we'll do lunch. Did you find the dates for Gala dinner" I ask. He clears his throats

"Yes I did and I'd like you to accompany me" He says without even thinking. Umhh what do I say.

"It's Friday. Take your time to think about it and get back to me" He says. Better that way

"Okay then I'll do. Anything else?" I ask cause it's awkward on the line. He says "no" and hang up.

I take my bag and walk out to be met by Lindiwe. I greet her and pass. Since yesterday's encounter she's been acting strange and I just let her be. Or was I wrong to wish her luck in finding mommy dearest?? Maybe I was wrong. I am still trying to find my fault so I can apologise. I find Ma already waiting for me. She is driving so I'll drive when we come back.

"Ma can I ask you something and please be honest with me regardless" I say. I tell her about the conversation we had with Lindiwe early yesterday and how I responded to it
