Dreaming The Dream

April sighs heavily.
It's so tiring to travel.
Her legs feel like they are jelly.

Today is Sunday, and they need to go back because tomorrow, Red needs to go back to school.

Richard needs to stay out of town for a few more days because he needs to supervise the contraction of the new hotel.

Red is beside her, leaning his sleepy her on her shoulder.

"Wake up Red. We are back."
April sluggishly sits up and shakes Red.

Red yawns and stretches his arm.

The driver laughs.
The two are starting to move alike.

Their vacation made them closer.

Handing the heavy labor of taking out her shopping bags, April holds hands with Red to go inside the house.

"Are you still sleepy? Go to your room and sleep. I will sleep too then we eat lunch together." April yawns.

Red nods not complaining, he really is sleepy.

The two separate after stepping inside the second floor. One went to the left and one to the right.

Red turns around looking at April's sluggish walk.
He slowly walks behind her.

April didn't realize that she had a small chick following behind her so when she saw a small silhouette from the edge of her eyes she screams in fear.

Gasping air while holding her chest.
She glares at the yawning Red.

"You! Are you scaring me?"

"I want to sleep with Mom."

"Well, aren't you old enough to sleep alone?"

Red blushes and looks down.
He is playing with his feet.
"But I want…"

April sighs.
"Okay. Go and take a quick shower. Change your clothes and come here."

"Really?"
Red is smiling while looking at her.

April lips twitch.
"What can I say. Aren't you so cute these days? Hurry. I won't change my mind."

Red nods and smiles.
He hugs April's waist then runs to his room.

April smiles.
"Cute. The future Boss is relying on me, his mother. Even if Richard divorce me some year later,if I will love him and give him more affection than the future Mrs. Argos would give then he would still consider me as his mother!" April clenched her fist.

She happily took a quick bath and changed her clothes to a sleepwear pajama that is wholesome for kids.

She realized her dream mistake.
Her dream self is so ambitious.
If she just treats Red better she would have a better life.

Her eyesight is so narrow back then.
She should have a better picture.
By treating Red best, not only will the husband be satisfied, the son will not take her for granted in the future.

How happy would it be?
To have a future ATM?

April remembers Richard thanking her for being a good mother.
She feels a bit sad.

"If only I did that from the start."
She lay down on the bed.
To be blinded by greed and love.

Unlike before, just because she treated Red kindly, Richard was kinder and sweeter to her.
Not only that, he kisses her lips like he cherishes her.

All because she changes her attitude with Red.

Knock.
Knock.

"Come in." She smiles and sees Red who is wearing a red pajama.
