"Your behavior out there was absolutely disgusting," she barked.

"With all due respect Professor, we didn't do anything," Ellie said.

"Yeah, did you not see the two girls fighting on the ground?"

"That's enough! You both provoked the fight, and not to mention you completely back talked to me, Elizabeth!"

"Well you falsely accused us of whatever you're even accusing us of, and once again, you did nothing about the two girls fighting!" Ellie jeered.

"That's it. Detention for a week with me. See me after dinner. Your behavior is absolutely disgusting."

I couldn't believe it. Detention? For watching a fight?

Ellie and I pushed our chairs back, and left, slamming the door shut as we went.

"I can't believe it," she hissed.

The day went by quickly. To my dismay, most of my classes were with Draco and Faith who were all over each other the whole time.

I walked to my last class which was Defense Against the Dark Arts with the one and only Umbridge.

When I got there, most seats were taken. I scanned the room to see Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Hermione sat alone, so I went to sit with her, but I stopped when Oliver called my name.

"Lizzie, come sit with me."

I turned to see him sitting in the second to last row, and of course Draco and Faith sat behind him.

I shook my head, and nodded in their direction. He nodded understandingly, so I went to sit with Hermione, but someone got there before me.

"Miss Rosewood. Are you going to sit down so I can begin today's lesson, or are you going to continue to act up like this morning?" Umbridge said.

"Sorry Professor."

I looked around, and of course all seats were taken except the one in front of Draco and Faith. I sighed as I sat next to Oliver and he gave me a small, but reassuring smile.

"Great!" she exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes. Her voice was going to drive me insane.

She flicked her wand and stacks of books floated down the rows, distributing books at each table.

Defense Against the Dark Arts for Beginners, the cover read.

Hermione raised her hand and Umbridge called on her.

"There's nothing in here about Defensive Spells."

"Ah yes, the Ministry approved this curriculum."

"So no magic?" asked Ron.

"Precisely."

"Well how're we supposed to defend ourselves? What happens when we're attacked?" Harry asked.

"You really think you'll need to defend yourselves? Who would possibly want to attack children like you?" she said comically.

"I don't know. Maybe Lord Voldemort," Harry responded, sass and aggravation present in his tone.

Gasps filled the room, and the mood in the room seemed to become uneasy.

Umbridge looked around before speaking again. "Let me make this clear. You've all been told that a certain dark wizard has returned, but I would like to reassure you that that is in fact a lie."

I looked down at my lap. The Daily Profit was loaded with articles this summer about Harry being a liar. He claimed that Cedric was murdered by Voldemort, but the Ministry was trying to silence him so he wouldn't cause fear through the Wizarding World. I mean, call me crazy, but I personally believe him. Cedric was perfectly healthy and I don't know how he could've just dropped dead like the Ministry is claiming.

"I saw him! I watched him kill Cedric Diggory with my own two eyes!" he spat.

I bit my lip and blinked back tears.

"What happened to Cedric Diggory was a tragic accident," she said, trying to sound reassuring.

I had had it with this lady. I stood up, anger coursing through me.

"Lizzie, sit down," Oliver hissed.

I ignored him. "So you're trying to tell me that he just dropped dead out of nowhere?" I said, my voice surprisingly steady.

"Exactly!" Harry exclaimed.

"ENOUGH!" Umbridge screamed, making me jump.

"Mr. Potter, join Miss Rosewood and me for detention today."

I rolled my eyes, not caring anymore how much trouble I got in. I turned, and walked out of the class, slamming the door shut as I left. I could not listen to this stupid woman any longer.

I felt bad for Elizabeth. Watching her get picked on by Umbridge, and knowing that she got a detention for no reason was unfair.

As she left the class after getting in an argument with Umbridge, Faith giggled beside me.

"You're right. She is really weak," she snickered into my ear.

I forced a small smile but I felt bad about what I had said. In no way did Elizabeth deserve this, even if I was mad at her.

"Yeah. Really proved why she's in Hufflepuff," I responded, immediately feeling horrible.

Faith laughed loudly and Umbridge smiled at us. Umbridge was covering up that fact that Voldemort was in fact back. I knew this because my father had been talking about it all Summer. He's been attending shady meetings, and hosting other Death Eaters at home. Hence why Faith and her family had been around so much.
