The next morning, we all made our way down to the docks. It was freezing cold and we were expected to stand out on a freezing cold lake.

I stood at the top of one of the platforms located in the middle of the lake with Oliver. We still hadn't seen Elizabeth.

"Where's Lizabeth?" Ellie asked as she walked up next to us.

"I don't know. We haven't seen her since yesterday," Oliver responded.

"Weird. It's not like her to miss a challenge."

"Shhh, don't say that in front of Malfoy. He's been freaking out ever since she went missing," Oliver whispered just loud enough for the two of us to hear.

"Will you shove off? I'm not freaking out, and I know well enough that she's probably just over there with the other Beauxbatons."

"Yeah, okay, whatever helps you sleep at night," Oliver said, sarcastically.

Dumbledore called for everyone's attention, and began to explain the task. I ignored everything he said until one specific part stood out to me.

"Something important has been taken from each of our Champions. It's up to them to find it, and if they don't...well, then it might just be lost forever."

"She's in the fucking lake," I said, staring straight ahead.

"What?" Oliver asked, plainly.

"Elizabeth. She is in the lake," I said slowly.

Oliver chuckled, "Now why would they do that? I mean this is a school. No way they'd put students in danger...right?"

"Yeah, Oliver is right. They wouldn't do that."

"Well where else could she be? She wouldn't miss a challenge," I snapped.

The sound of the cannon made us jump, and the Champions dove in.

"You sound insane right now. You really think she'd be in the damn lake?" Oliver snapped.

I rolled my eyes. I wasn't going to waste my time dealing with brainless idiots. I walked to Blaise who stood nearby.

"You good? You look whiter than usual."

"Shut up."

I gripped onto the railing tightly as I watched the waters below. I could not see anything below the surface, so I was basically just staring at water.

Ugh. Why do people even like watching these. We're literally staring at a fucking lake, and all these cretans seemed entertained.

"Where's Elizabeth?" asked Blaise.

"No clue," I responded, not removing my eyes off the lake.

"You don't think she's in there, do you?"

"Well where else could she be?"

"I don't know, but definitely not the lake. How could she even end up down there?"

I finally removed my eyes from the waters, and glared at him.

"Did you forget we go to a school where its purpose is to teach us magic?"

"Good point, but still, I don't think they'd do that."

I turned my attention back to the water. Minutes ticked by, but they felt like hours.

Finally, someone emerged from the water. It was the Beauxbatons girl - but not my girl.

"I couldn't get her!" I could see her mouth.
