Screaming. That's all I heard as I sat around the table at a Death Eater meeting.

"Worm Tail!" Voldemort spat. "What did I say about keeping our guests quiet?"

"Sorry, My Lord," he said before hurrying off to the dungeons where our prisoners were kept.

Voldemort waited a moment, staring at all of us before speaking again, but then, another heartbreaking scream ripped through the air. He shook his head and sighed loudly. "Never mind, Worm Tail. Bring up the idiot that keeps interrupting," he spat.

And I hate when he does that. It always results in torture and I always have to watch.

A moment later, Worm Tail appeared with the prisoner. He shoved them to the ground by Voldemort's feet who chuckled evilly.

"Miss Rosewood," he chuckled, making my heart beat quickly - it couldn't be; she went missing months ago.

I took a subtle glance at the prisoner who lay on the ground, careful to not draw attention to myself because that would get her killed, and sure enough, it was her. My girl. The one I love so much; the one I missed and longed to hold again...she lay on the floor of my house, and it was my fault.

"Get up," Voldemort snapped. He kicked her in the stomach, making her gasp for air. She got up slowly and I got a good look at her.

Her face was covered in bruises, her golden brown hair was knotted, and the clothes she wore on her body were covered in dirt. The eyes I used to gaze into for hours were now broken, and I couldn't even look at them now without wanting to cry.

"You interrupted our meeting."

She didn't respond. She was staring at me. Anger and betrayal burned in her emerald eyes.

"What do you have to say for yourself?" Voldemort jeered making her flinch.

She didn't respond, though. That only angered Voldemort more. He raised his wand and Elizabeth crumbled to the ground, quivering in pain.

"DRACO!" she screamed.

-

I woke quickly from my sleep. I was damp from sweat and out of breath. A light flicked on and everyone in the room groaned in protest.

"What's wrong, mate?" Blaise asked tiredly as he and Ellie sat up from his bed.

"I had the dream again," I said after I had caught my breath.

Oliver stood at the door, just staring at the ground. Cho Chang lay in his bed, half asleep. They've been seeing each other for quite some time now.

When I mentioned 'the dream,' both Ellie and Ollie had gone quiet. They'd returned for our final year at Hogwarts, but neither of them have been doing well; none of us have.

"What happened to her?" Oliver questioned.

I had never told anyone that Elizabeth was dead. I couldn't do it; I was too much of a coward. However, Oliver knew that I was holding information.

"I told you, I don't know where she is!" I jeered.

"Potter said she went missing the same fucking night that she was with you!" he yelled back.

"I love her! Do you not realize that? I've done everything I can in my power to find her!"

A low sob came from Ellie. "Guys, please stop. She wouldn't want this."

"Well this wouldn't be a problem if dumbass hadn't used her!"

"Oliver!" Blaise said warningly.

"What? It's not like it's a lie. He killed my cousin and best friend."

"I did not! Will you quit it?" I snarled, stomping up to him and stabbing my wand into his neck.

"Both of you, stop!" Ellie pleaded.

"Dead. And because of you. You're an ass. I should've never set you two up," he seethed.

"I didn't kill her."

"Oliver, come on," Blaise said.

Oliver's eyes landed on Blaise. "What? Do you think he's not capable of murder? He killed Dumbledore."

"Cru—"

"Expelliarmus."

My wand flew from my hand and into Blaise's.

"Stop it," he jeered.

"Screw you!" I spat at Oliver before storming off to the Astronomy Tower.

I reached the top of the tower and a loud sob escaped me.

Six months. She's been gone for half a year.

Dead.

Nothing goes my way. I lost one of my best friends, and the other has been spending time with his girlfriend because she's too broken - not that I blame any of them.

But the worst part is, I lost Elizabeth. My love and life. She was the reason I kept going, but then she left.

Not to mention, I'm set to marry her sister in six months.

I glanced up at the night sky. Stars dotted the sky which only made me cry harder.

'We all see the same stars, so it's like we're connected,' played over and over again in my head as I wondered if she was seeing the same stars even though she was in an entirely different world, a happy one. Free from me and all my bullshit.

I swallowed back my tears and fiddled with a ring on my hand - the one I had given her back when I had first become engaged to Vanessa.

"Elizabeth..." I murmured softly. "I miss you...so much. I was hoping things would get easier, but even after all these months, I still can't get over you. Oliver hates me and Blaise is distant. I have no one to turn to..."

Tears started to fall faster. I was so happy, but that was stripped away from me so quickly.

I shut my eyes as memories of my beautiful girl filled my mind.

I thought of the time I first saw her at the Quidditch World Cup; the way her face lit up as she watched the game and spoke with Cedric.

I remembered the Yule Ball, and the way the snow sparkled in her hair that night when we shared our first kiss.

Asking her out, right here on the Astronomy Tower, and the joy I had felt when she said yes because someone actually loved me.

The time we said I love you down at the Black Lake; that was the night I decided I was going to marry her.

And then there was the little bump in the road of course, when Faith had come along, but that was quickly fixed because I could never forget Elizabeth.

The little Quidditch drama when I had gotten mad at her for playing. I wouldn't have admitted it then, but a big reason why I didn't want her to play is because I didn't want to lose to her...though I did.

Then there was that time where we had gotten into another fight about something stupid, but I gave her a boquet of Flutterbies to make up for it.

But then we broke up shortly after, only to get back together again...and then to be ripped apart again.

I became an engaged man and was forced to stay away from her...

And then months later, I found her in the cellars beneath the manor, dead.

The image of her lifeless body flashed through my mind and my eyes darted open. The anger, frustration, and sadness that has been built up for the past few months rushed right back into me.

Why can't I just be happy and have at least one thing go my way?
