A couple of days after we met Brielle, Draco and I returned to the manor. We climbed into his bed and he held me close.

"How long does she have?" I asked, referring to Vanessa.

He stayed quiet and I knew the answer. She will probably be gone in a matter of a few days, if she isn't already.

I nestled my face into his chest and he stroked my hair softly. My heart was broken for Vanessa. Even though she hurt me, I still can't help but feel sorry for her.

I'm not sure how long we laid there for, but Narcissa entered the room to get Draco.

"It's urgent, Draco. You're needed downstairs," she said.

Draco kissed my head. "I'll be back soon," he said when she left. "Don't leave and don't let him see you. He thinks you're dead for good this time." Then, he left quickly and I was all alone in his room.

Since Draco's room was on the top floor of the manor, I could not hear what was going on in the meeting room...nor would I have wanted to hear what was being plotted.

Time seemed to pass by at a crawl as I awaited for Draco to return.

And finally, after what felt like hours of waiting, Draco walked in urgently. "What's wrong?" I spluttered.

He pulled me up and kissed me. "A battle is about to take place. I'll be at Hogwarts, but you need to stay here."

"What!? No!"

"It's not safe for you. I love you. I'll be back very soon."

And before I could stop him, he had apparated.

"Come with me!" I yelled at Blaise and Goyle after freeing the Slytherins.

"Where have you been!?" Blaise cried as I dragged them through the hallways.

I ignored him as I pulled him and Goyle in the direction of the Room of Requirement. As we ran, we just barely avoided dozens of explosions and curses.

We ducked around a corner, and seconds later, a door appeared in a nearby wall. I pulled both of them inside.

"What are you trying to do?" Blaise hissed.

"Just keep an eye out for Potter."

They followed close on my heels. We all had our wands up, well I had my mother's wand because stupid Potter had taken mine when he was at the manor.

"Draco, there," Blaise whispered as we saw someone disappear behind a pile of junk.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" I called out as we rounded the corner to see Potter.

He was fiddling with something but quickly stopped. "I could ask you the same," he replied.

Blaise, Goyle, and I continued to approach him. "You have something of mine, and I'd like it back," I jeered.

"I thought Lizzie was with you," he taunted.

"Not her," I scoffed. "My wand."

"What's wrong with that one?"

"It just...it doesn't quite understand me. It is my mother's after all."

Potter nodded. "Well, I returned Lizzie to you. You should be thankful."

"Give it back!" I spat.

But he continued to be incompetent. "And you knew it was me...so why didn't you tell her...Bellatrix."

I stood quietly for a moment while Goyle whispered in my ear, but I ignored him because he never has any good ideas.

"Expelliarmus!" Granger yelled.

Granger and Weasley had their wands pointed at us, and so Blaise and I took off while Goyle fired a spell back.

A moment later, Goyle caught up to us while we heard Weasley yelling at us. "Stop him!" I jeered at Goyle while Weasley fired spells at us.

Goyle and Weasley fired spells back and forth while Blaise and I tried to find Potter or an exit.

A spell just barely missed my head and I spun on Goyle. "I told you to stop him, damn it!"

"Shove off, Malfoy," he jeered as flames burst from his wand.

I stumbled backwards into Blaise as a stack of furniture lit up into flames.

"You bloody idiot!"

The fire began to spread to more stacks of furniture, and Weasley, like the wuss he is, took off.

Blaise and I soon followed, and so did Goyle, but he still had not found a way to put out the stupid fire emitting from his wand so he only lit more pieces of furniture on fire.

"Just get rid of the wand," Blaise spat as we dodged a piece of flaming furniture.

We rounded a corner, but we were met with flames so we backtracked, only to be met with even more. I grabbed onto Blaise and pulled him to a stack which had not been destroyed by flames yet. We began to climb up, and Goyle soon followed after he finally extinguished the flames coming from his wand. However, the fire in general was still growing as flames licked at our feet.

"If I die because of you," I spat at Goyle.

Except it all happened so fast. Goyle grabbed a loose piece of furniture and before I knew it, he fell into the raging fire. At that moment, I thought for sure that Blaise and I would suffer the same fate.

I would never get to see her again. I hardly even said goodbye.

And now with Goyle gone, it's up to Elizabeth to raise Brielle...alone.

I shut my eyes and awaited my fate, but Blaise grabbed my blazer.

"Damn it, grab onto him!" Blaise yelled.

I looked up to see Potter soaring towards me on a broom. He reached out a hand and I grabbed on. Weasley grabbed Blaise, and soon, we were flying towards an exit.

I held on to Potter as the flames grew taller and taller, and I feared I wasn't going to make it, but finally, I was being thrown off the broom. I rolled across the ground and popped up in one of the hallways. Blaise also stood up.

"Lizzie is alive!?" he cried.

"Yes, now let's go."

Blaise and I ran through the hallways and out into the courtyard where a full blown battle had broken out.

"I need to find Ellie!" he yelled.

"Go."

He nodded and took off towards the castle while I ducked behind a pile of rubble and prayed that I would see Elizabeth again, where we could both be safe.

"Draco, don't be a wimp. Fight back!" Amycus spat.

But that was exactly what I did not want to do. However, I stood up and raised my wand and fired a few harmless spells at some students while I made my way into the castle.
