"Burot, burot, burot " I shouted at the top of my lungs, grinning like an idiot while running towards the toe-line,  clutching a slipper liked my life depended on it.   We were playing tumbang preso ( knock down the can) it was a traditional Filipino children's game.  Massimo was the It for two consecutive times, and man! He wasn't happy about it. With a pissed off covered face, Massimo got the empty milk can then put it inside the small circle.  (Loser, loser, loser)

"Get out of the way,  old man, " I yelled grinning, eliciting a cackled from Leo who stood beside me. Together we clapped our hands, like the bully that we were. The sun was sinking over the forest, tinting the sky pink and orange, it reflected in the calmed river. I almost forgot how fun it was to be a child, not worrying about anything but having fun.

Massimo smirked, "we'll see who's the old one when I catch you, " he retorted smugly while puffing out his chest.

I jutted my chin out, "just try if you can, " I rebutted. Massimo's expression instantly changed with thrill. He was like a hunter enraptured to the hunt and it excited the hell out of me.

"Ladies first, " Leo muttered, urging me to take the first shot.  With a nod I walked into the center of the toe-line, clasping the slipper. Massimo stood a couple of feet away from the can, arm crossed over his chest, a grin twisting his lips that I very much wanted to wipe out. With one foot backward and one forward I squinted my eye at the can, figuring the best angle to knock it down. I swang my right arm back then throw the slipper confident that it would knock it down, and beat Massimo.

Instead of hitting the can, the traitorous slipper hit Massimo bullseye to his precious jewel. Gasped, ouch, and oof was heard at the same time. I quickly sauntered towards Massimo who was now crunching on the ground, hands between his legs. I crunched beside him and hesitantly patted his back. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. It— it wasn't my intention, I— I don't know what happened, " as if one cue the wind bristled, " The wind! Yeah, it must be the wind, " I ranted, wanted them to believe my theory, or more like wanted myself to believe it.

"I would say nice aim but that'd be a lie. You really hit him hard Sal, " Leo said wrinkling his nose as if he also felt the pain. "You might want to visit the hospital uncle Mas." Leo was about to say more but with my glacier gazed he shut up.

"Go inside wash your hands, and rest a bit. Later we'll set up for dinner, " I instructed, thankfully he obliged while giving a  pity looked over Massimo. Massimo stood up before jumping in place a couple of times while blowing air. Guilt crept in on me.

"I'm so sorry Massimo. I swear! It wasn't my intention, " I let out feeling bad for him. He adjusted himself in his pants, before giving me a distorted smile. "You want some ice for that?" I asked timidly.

Chuckling, "bella, I need more than that. This is an emergency, you hit it pretty damn hard. We must check if it's still working just fine, " Massimo uttered exaggerated, with excessive acting skills. It rendered me speechless for a moment.

"I might not hit you that hard if you could still talk like that, " I deadpanned, then tried to go back to the lodge. But with one swift moved Massimo trapped me in his vascular arms.

"I've been in agonizing pain since last night, Red, " he whispered hotly in my ear. My heart raced, and heat blazed over my body. Massimo kissed my ear. "Just admit that you love my dick, it would take away the pain."

"Done."  I slipped off of his arms, strutting to the lodge.

"I'm cured! Your declaration of love never failed to take away the agonizing pain," he joked.

I turned, "don't worry, that isn't the only thing I love about you, " I declared, giving him a wink. His laughter bubbled behind me.
