The start of the end

1. Bertie Bott's Beans and Secrets not so secret.

ZOE'S POV

I am sitting in a bench of a compartment of The Hogwarts Express. Marlene sits besides me, asleep. Remus and Sirius are in front of us. Sirius leaning onto Remus' lap. Remus stroking Sirius' hair, whispering to eachothers. Julia and Peter are talking on the opposite part of their bench. Mary is probably with Alice, Emmeline and other sixth years that I don't know about in another compartment, I haven't seen them yet.

Potter and Lily are in the Prefect's compartment. I still can't believe he is Head Boy now ! I don't know what Dumbledore had drunk before making this decision.

All of this is so peaceful. So calm. Too calm. Suddendly I close the book I was reading ( Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafón ) and get up. Sirius and Remus blench a little with the surprise of the suddent movement. Marlene opens an eye and then close it again, mad I woke up her.

" Where are you going ? ", ask Remus.
" I don't know, maybe trying to find the Trolley witch ! "

Peter gets up at once saying that he's coming with me. It looks like Sirius wants to go as well but Remus gives him a Look meaning God knows what.

We leave the compartment, silents at first, just walking. Now, I just can't help my curiosity anymore and asks what I've been holding in my mouth for a long time now.

" So how's it going with Julia? "

Peter seemed surprised by the sudden question.

" Well, um fine. Friends as usual, what do you mean ? "
" Peter, we both know that there's more than that. You can't lie to me. "

He sighs.

" May... Maybe. I mean- No ! That's not possible. "
" Pete, I see the way you look at her. It's not the same way you look at any of us. "
" Well, maybe it's because she's my best friend. "
" Peter stop lying to yourself !! ", I say a little bit louder than I intended to.

He blushes, not expecting me to react like this. I notice my mistake. My temperament takes over me, again.

" Look Peter, I am sorry to react a bit intensively," he nods, " but you'd really make a good couple. Of course, I don't want to push yourself to do something you don't want to but it's clear there's something between you two. You can deny it as long as you want but it doesn't change anything.
Remember when Remus and Sirius were not a couple, in 4th year yeah ?
Remus told me he had a crush on Sirius but he wouldn't ever tell him. And Sirius, oh gosh he was in the absolute denial. "

We both laugh.

" Now look at them, they don't leave each others a minute. They were already like this before they got together but not in the exact same way. And you must admit that they are REALLY cute. "

" Yes but well, you don't have to share a dorm with them. "
" I guess that's why my point of view about them is different than yours. "

We both laugh until we reach the Trolley witch. I don't bring back the topic of him and Julia after that because I can see that it makes him uncomfortable and that's the last thing I want to do. Maybe our discussion will make him think anyways.

PETER'S POV

I am glad Zoe didn't asked further questions and talked about Remus and Sirius instead. I think that if she would have kept insisting, I would've dropped it.
Of course I have feelings for Julia ! How couldn't I ? She is smart, pretty, funny, a queen in Quidditch, always there for the ones she loves. I really don't know how I couldn't fancy her. But the thing is that I'll never tell her. As I am sure it's unrequited, I don't want our friendship to be ruined because of it.

When we go back to our compartment, Julia speaks with Marlene and Sirius and Remus are asleep in a corner. Sirius is in his Padfoot's form. Zoe is right. They are cute when they are not snogging the life out of eachothers in the dorm.

Zoe comes to them to wake them up. We bought Bertie Bott's Beans at the Trolley witch's. Sirius opens his dog eyes and falls off seeing the little box in my hand, he barks happily already excited to play a game.
He really is like a dog sometimes. Marlene nudges him to make him shush. It's not like we are supposed to have dogs in The Hogwarts Express. He turns into his human form before exclaiming " OUCH " and falling on the bench. Remus rolls his eyes with a little smirk he is trying to hide and we all laugh seeing Sirius being so dramatic.

We sit in a circle before playing the little game to busy ourselves.
