Playing with Fire

Chapter Three - Kelly.

I rubbed my face as I woke up the next morning. I looked around and was confused on how I got to my bed since I thought I fell asleep on the couch. I grabbed my glasses off my nightstand and pushed myself off the bed before walking down the stairs.  

"Good morning."

I smiled as I looked over at Kelly. I walked over to the kitchen and walked past him to get to the coffee machine.

"Good morning."

"There's coffee on the pot if you want some."

I nodded as I reached into the cupboard to get a cup and poured myself some coffee. I turned around and leaned back against the counter as I drank my coffee when all of a sudden I see a red head women that I didn't know, coming down the stairs. I looked over at Kelly and he held up his hands.

"Not me."

Shay came down the stairs a few seconds later and I shook my head as I took another sip of my coffee. I pushed myself to a standing position and walked around the counter to sit down next to Kelly at the island. Shay walked over to us and pulled open the fridge. 

"Looks like somebody had a good night."

She turned around with a yogourt in her hand and smiled. 

"Yeah I did, is there anymore of that?"

"Yeah."

She put her yogourt down on the counter before grabbing a cup out of the cupboard and pouring herself a cup of coffee. She turned back around and set the cup down on the counter before grabbing her yogourt once again. 

"You two were passed out on the couch when we got here, you looked so adorable together."

I felt my cheeks getting red so I put my head down and got up. I walked over to the fridge and pulled it open. I reached in and grabbed some blueberries before closing the door. 

"I was sleeping real good until you two woke me up. Ev slept through the whole thing."

I turned around and looked at Kelly.

"How did I end up in my bed then?"

I walked back to sit down at the island and Kelly looked over at me. 

"I brought you up. Figured you'd rather sleep in your own bed then the couch."

I nodded and popped some blueberries in my mouth. 

"Thanks."

"Okay lovebirds, it's time for me to head to work. You two should do the same you know."

Shay grabbed her coffee and walked over to the staircase.

"I can drive you both you know?"

"I know but I've got a errand to run before shift. I'll meet you at the firehouse."

Kelly nodded as Shay walked up the stairs. Kelly turned back towards me and smiled.  

"Looks like it's just you and me."

I chuckled. 

"As usual."

I grabbed my cup of coffee and drank the last of time before getting up and putting the cup in the sink.

"I'll go get ready, be down in 10."

"Sure."

I jogged up the stairs and to my bedroom. I pushed open the door and closed it behind me before walking over to my closet and opening it. After a few seconds of looking through it, I decided on my black ripped jeans and an oversized white sweater. I paired that with my black heeled booties and just put my hair up in a messy bun. I took my glasses off and did some quick natural makeup before walking back down the stairs. As I reached the bottom of the stairs I leaned down and grabbed my bag that was by the stairs before walking over to the entryway where Kelly stood. He pulled open the door and we both walked out of the apartment. We walked down the stairs to his car and I threw my bag in the back before pulling open the passenger door and sitting down.
