"It's you." The tied up man says after making direct eye contact with Adrianna. His gaze holds a deathly glare and only commences my exact same reaction.

All day just the littlest things have set me off, especially with Adrianna. I'm aware of my crappy behavior with her but everything has just been building up today. And, believe it or not, there is a certain amount of Adrianna I can take. She's a sweet girl with a spicy addition to her but sometimes she becomes a little too much. Now, to add onto the pile she might apparently know the enemy?

Unsure of what's going on, the rage within me takes over and my fists are clenched at my sides. Not only am I confused but so is Lorenzo. He's puzzled and has no words for his confusion.

"You want to explain what the fuck is going on?" Hopefully Adrianna will give me the answer straight away and avoid the trouble of making me even more livid.

She shakes her head no and looks back and forth between me and the two other men. "I don't know him, are you kidding me."

"Are you sure?" I question.

"Yup." She keeps up her confident composure and is almost convincing enough for me, but something about the way the man spoke is rubbing me the wrong way. He hasn't said anything since and it's a bit off putting.

"You know her?" I ask while pointing towards Adrianna. The man remains silent but encases a mischievous smirk that quickly fades away.

My eyes drift back to Adrianna. Composed, she shakes her head no, again, but diverts from eye contact and looks down at her shoes.

Christ, this is just going to go back and forth and I don't have time for this. I exhale a harsh breath and look towards Lorenzo. He too is starting to get annoyed.

"Adrainna, I don't want to have to pry the information out of you but if I have to..."

Ring. Ring.

Are you fucking kidding me? Who's damn phone is that. I know for a fact it is not mine because my phone is on silent while on missions.

"Sorry, I have to pick this up." Adrianna walks away and answers her phone call in private. What a coincidence that her phone happens to ring at the time I am questioning her. For all I know she could be helping the enemy. She could be plotting against me. Although I highly doubt that, she is giving me no other choice than to be concerned.

Walking over in her direction, I find that that once confident girl is now quiet and continuously answering yes after every few seconds. She rolls her eyes a few times and appears bothered. Impatient, I'm about to snatch the phone away from her ear until I hear her say, "Okay mother, well what do you want me to do about it?" Thats who she's talking to. Going against my past intention, I proceeded back towards the car.

"Knock the little shit out and get him in the trunk, well deal with this back at the house."

"But, what about Adrianna?" Lorenzo asks.

"I'll deal with her later, you just worry about getting as much information as you can from him."

Without any other thoughts, Lorenzo hits the back of the man's head with his gun and then drags him to the back of the car. Once Lorenzo and I are situated, Adrianna joins us minutes later and with no words. We all sit in silence for the next hour.

---

It's pitch black, at the time we arrive back to the house. Nothing but the lights from the mansion are visible. All my men have gone home, leaving it to just be the three of us and a few maids.

Finally getting the chance to check the time, I have come to see that it's already eight' thirty. Lorenzo takes off the moment we set foot on the property, saying he has "important matters to get too." Obviously his "important matters" require two aspects, Adriannas little cousin and fucking the shit out of her. Those two need to be careful, I don't need a kid running around the mansion calling me uncle.

My stomach began to grumble and I instantly remember that I haven't eaten all day. I was consumed with work so much that I hadn't been able to follow up with my usual routine today. Making my way to the kitchen, I open up the fridge in search of food. Ugh, I'm too lazy to prepare a whole meal but I don't want to just starve. For now, I settle with munching on some leftover oatmeal bars the chefs made for me a few nights ago. Around 3 am, one night I started craving these blueberry oatmeal bars I used to eat as a child. Thankfully the chef was still around and whipped me up 2 batches.

In the midst of eating, I come to the realization that Adrianna came in with me. When I go looking for her, I find that she has her Louboutin duffle bag in her arms and she is almost out the door. She has yet to say anything since her phone call. I knew her mom probably bitched at her until she ran out of things to say.

"Your not going to stay for dinner?" I ask. Why would she though? I've been snappy at her all night and to top it all off she talked to that she-devil she calls mother. She also just killed a bunch of people for the first time. What a friend I am.

With her back facing me she says, "It's rather late for dinner and besides I've bothered you enough for the day." I hate the way she thinks that she is bothering me. Yes, she can be slightly annoying with her prisiness but it's never pushed me to feel bothered.

I take another bite of my bar in hunger and with a full mouth add, "No, you should stay." I pause real quick to swallow down the remaining food and continue. She doesn't wait though and goes back to walking out.

"What I meant to say was that you haven't bothered me in the least bit. I just got frustrated with work and took it out on you because you were one person who I knew wouldn't put up with me. My men usually get to scared to respond back."

Adrianna stops in her tracks and turns back to look my way. "Brooks, seriously it's fine, your fine. I just need to get to my office and finish up some manuscripts."

That's a load of bullshit and even she knows it. She had come a few hours ago in mind to spend the night and suddenly she has work. I roll my eyes at her white lies and reach out to grab a hold of her arm. "Adrianna stop being difficult and get dinner with me."

"I'm not hungry," she protests while pulling out of my grip. I wasn't holding onto her roughly but she retracted as if I was. She didn't look mad or upset in any way, just tired. Her face was still filled with color and was lively, but her eyes held tiredness. I stuff my hands into my front pockets and decided upon just letting her be. Maybe she just needs a break.

We don't say another word as she makes her way out. I turn back to go inside but stop when I hear the sound of a car quickly speeding in. I don't need to check who it is, by the sound of the Ferrari engine purring. I heard the front door slam shut which is soon followed by the popping sound of gum. The smacking is annoyingly loud against the noiseless atmosphere.

"Damn Brooks, you kicked this bitch out so early. Usually you let them stay for breakfast. Got another on the way?"

"Hello to you too Sophia." My sister stops Adrianna and forces a handshake upon them. Right as she is about to pull away, Sophia stops and pulls Adrianna closer to her by the shoulders.

"Shut the fuck up," she shouts. "Aren't you Adrianna Luna?"

I can't see Adriannas reaction, but I know that she is already in the midst of giving off a polite smile. Sophia is still holding onto her, when she hooks arm with Adriannas and turns her back towards the direction of the front door. "I gotta know how the fuck you wound up here with my piece of shit brother. This is going to be a great story."

Sophia never knows when to shut up. My sister can be so aggravating and abrasive sometimes. The girl has absolutely no filter and no sense of personal bubbles. She could give less fucks about what anyone thought about her and for this reason doesn't care who she disrespects. Thankfully Sawyer isn't as wild as her, but together they're mischief and mayhem.

By the time I know it, both girls are inside and I'm still standing at the front steps processing how Adrianna might react to my sister. Well, I guess that was one way to get Adrianna to stay for dinner. Hopefully, Sophia doesn't fuck things up, leaving Adrianna to not only hate me but back out of working with me.
