"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks, Jane and Alec will take me out first because I can anticipate their moves," Edward starts talking strategy. The room was calm and quiet.
"Too bad we don't all have your shield," Garrett comments to my sister
"Yeah doesn't help me fight though," She states scrunching her face up in thought.
"No, but you could help the rest of us," Tanya says Bella's face lights up wanting to help in any way she can.
"What do you mean," Bella asks
"I mean, shield someone other than yourself,"
"Is that possible?" Bella asks
"Gifts can develop over time," Carlisle confirms, "And if you cover Lilith all the time, in theory you could expand it passed just Lilith,"
"At first mine was just in my palms, now I can radiate it all over my body," Kate explains
"How do you do it?" Bella asks, grabbing Kate's wrist. Kate looks at her with a blank face. "Tell me," Bella demands
"Ow," She complains but agrees. Leading us into the woods where we all watched Bella's attempt at spreading her gift. "You need to visualize it," Kate explains, "See how it moves, what color it is, now picture it expanding," We all watch Bella concentrate on her power, "Will it to go beyond you," It seems like she is doing it, but suddenly her body slacks when she gives up. "I think she needs something to motivate her," Kate suggests to Edward, who steps forward taking his hands out of his pockets.
"No," Bella argues
"It's all right, I can take it," I snort
"He says that now," Garrett says
"Focus Bella, or he's going to be hurting," Kate puts her hand out and I watch Edward reach hesitantly toward it.
"Edward, I'm not ready to do this yet," Bella argues with her husband, who suddenly grabs Kate's hand groaning out in pain. He falls to the floor in pain. "I'm sorry I said I wasn't ready," Bella apologizes
"Dude you're not motivating her," Emmett says
"You want to try?" I laugh at his voice watching Emmett put his hands up like he was stepping back from an argument. Bella's face contorts in focus once again. But she doesn't reach him when Kate suddenly shocks him. He yelps in pain once again.
"Kate!" Bella warns
"You seem to lack incentive, shall I go see if Renesmee is awake," Bella's body tenses at this suggestion. Even I glare at Kate for even suggesting it.
"Are you crazy?" Bella moves toward Kate in anger.
"Alright," She puts her hand up Edward, "This one's on full power," Edward gives Bella a pleading look. He braces himself to touch her and Bella begins to concentrate again. This time she isn't scrunching her face up like she's in pain, but she looks calmer. Edward doesn't yelp out in pain and opens his eyes. Kate stops and I'm assuming so does Bella.
"It's painful but bearable," Edward says in amazement. Bella smiles proud of herself.
"Okay, we should go again," Edward's eyes widen
"Emmett?" I laugh at them
"Uh... I'm good," I smile, things really did seem like they were falling into place, and hope was not as far off as it was a few days ago.
