Bella and Edward met us in the clearing, Jasper having chosen this spot to give us an advantage. I watched Bella carefully, her face scrunched up in thought. "What's the face for?"I ask my sister who flushes looking up at Edward.
"Edward agreed to stay out of the fight for me," I raise an eyebrow "I'd ask you to stay out too but I know you'd never agree,"
"Damn right," I agree "Someone comes after my sister I make them feel it. But why did you ask Edward?" I ask
"She didn't, she wanted to join us," I snort giving Bella an incredulous look she flushes again "So I agreed to get her away, especially since we think its Victoria,"
"Victoria?" Jasper asked joining the conversation "You think she's hiding behind the army," He comes to the conclusion on his own. Bella nods at Jasper "Okay, I mean our numbers are still good without Edward, we have the wolves and us," He mumbled the stoic look crossing his face again in thought when the stench of wolf hit our noses telling us Jacob was close. I turn standing beside Jasper and Bella. We approach him as he approaches us, obviously having heard the tail end of the conversation.
"You're not fighting?" He said the snide comment bubbling up in him "What you pulled a muscle?" I roll my eyes giving Bella a look that read seriously.
"He's doing it for me," She defends and he rolls his eyes.
"You fighting Lilith? You know since we're giving handouts," I roll my eyes again
"Shut up Jacob," I say "Before I put you on your ass again," Jasper huffs behind me and Edward hides his laughter in his hand. Bella looks at me and I tilt my head with both my eyebrows raised.
"Whatever," Jacob says "What's the plan?"
"This field will give us an advantage in battle, we need to lure the newborns with Bella's scent. But it needs to end here," Jasper explains Bella starts to fill in the blanks for the wolf.
"Edward and I are going to a campsite, even if he carries me they'll pick up my scent," She explains evenly when Edward pipes up.
"Your stench, however, is revolting," I chuckle at his comment.
"Dude you do not want to start comparing stink," Jacob comments
"Dude even when you were human you stunk," I said tilting my head in mock thought he glared at me
"What he means is, your scent will mask mine if you carry me," Bella speaks up before Jacob could respond to me. I smirk at the oversized puppy who barely considers Bella's ask before agreeing.
"This is not a good idea," Edward speaks not happy with this.
"Edward, they won't want to get anywhere near his..." Jasper pauses eyeing Jacob "odor,"
"Okay let's just try it," Bella moves forward, Jacob easily picking her up in his arms
"Odor-de-wolf comin' up," Jacob snarks turning carrying her into the forest.
"Run!" Edward yells after him. We wait for a few for them to be far enough before Jasper looks for her scent knowing Edward and I couldn't, we'd look to hard for it. Jasper returns a few minutes later.
"All I picked up was wolf stench," Jasper spoke coming out "No Bella...This will work," He assures us. I nod taking his hand in my own grasping lightly.
