After dressing for the day Aurora didn't want to knock in case Xavier was still working on himself. She had chosen a simple shorts and tang top combo. A little mascara nothing else. Hair still wet she left it in the towel. Sitting on the couch she grabbed one of the books still laid on the table.

Xavier finished it took him mere minutes to get ready. Sitting on his phone he handled business from back home. Sending out more paperwork he concluded he would be busy upon his return. Meetings were piling up in his absence.

It had been an hour before Xavier decided he would check on Aurora. He didn't want to take a chance that she would be gone. Knocking in her door he opened it. She was sitting on the couch with a book in hand. Looking up in his direction, she sweetly smiled.

"I didn't want to disturb you" she explained.

"Never a bother, love" he winked. "What did you want to do today?" he questioned.

"I don't know" she looked to be mulling over his question. Forgetting again and again that a question so easy can be so difficult for her.

"I don't have anything on the go for the day, I could take you sightseeing" he offers. A way to make up ground on his previous question.

"That sounds nice" she chirps. He loves that she is always up for something new.

"You ready than?"

"yep"

Getting up from her spot and placing done her book like a good reader. Aurora follows him out of the room and hotel. 'Before long they are in his car and on the move.

No idea where they are heading Aurora keeps eyes on the surrounding in hop[e to see something she recognized. Nothing they were heading in a new direction. Xavier holds a sly smile as he drives with purpose.

Wondering she watches him, a part of her knowing the look. The look of someone with a secret plan. One she had no inclination too. This was not just a random drive and the fact that he was withholding information made her stomach turn.

Another trigger making its way to the surface. Not knowing where they were going made her uneasy. Even if she did trust Xavier something in her way turning and swirling and not in a good way.

"Where are we going?" she questions with a cracking voice. Her fear showing, not that he needed that to sense it.

"I had a bit of a surprise in mind" he gave back still trying to hold onto his secret.

"Would you tell me?" she inquires further.

"Do I have to" his tone similar of a small child.

"It makes me scared" honesty rolls out.

"Love" his says with a soft sigh. The reality hitting him and guilt rising up. He wants to see the joy on her face when she sees it but not at the expense of her fear. "There is a carnival in town, I thought it would be up your alley".

The look she holds is one of confusion and understanding all in one. Xavier had never really seen the look before on anyone. The way she was building the idea in her head. Piecing together what she knows and doesn't.

"I can't say I know what that is but I am thankful to know none the less" her statement bringing a laugh up in him. Guilt followed as he knew he was laughing at her pain.

When she joined him, he was shocked and was left looking over to the sweet girl. Who simply responded "if you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at." The sheer brilliance of this women something threw him off. So knowledgeable for someone so sheltered. An old soul lived in her one with the wisest thought and most caring actions.
