My parents were quiet the whole way home.

My brother was humming to his music like nothing was wrong.

Father kept glancing back.

Mother was staring outside the window.

"David when we get home. We will talk about what happened" dad said breaking the silence.

The boy that my brother attack was seriously injured.

My brother could end up in jail if the other family sue.

Yet he was not scare.

We arrive home.

When we entered the house mom turned to me and guide me back to my room.

"Veronica stay in your room. Don't come out and go to sleep. You have school tomorrow. Lock your room when I get out, okay" my mother said softly kissing my forehead.

"Why?" I asked confused. She never asked me to close the door.

"If something bad ever happen to me or dad. Don't trust David be careful and strong" mom said quickly.

I stood there taking in her words.

She walked outside and closed the door. I locked the door and sit down on the floor.

Before long someone turned the music on in whole blast.

I tried to ignore it but it was impossible.

15 minutes later.

There was a knock on the door.

"Veronica its me David let me in" my brother said loudly.

I got up but stopped.

When I saw smoke coming from the floor.

I rushed to get my moms cell phone.

I called 911 and hang up when I finish speaking.

My brother wouldn't stop banging the door.

I rushed to the restroom in hide there until someone came.

It was getting hard to breath.

Before I knew it someone had broken down the door and carried me out from the restroom.

The fireman that rescued me was yelling something to someone.

I looked around for my parents but the only one that came to view was David.

He was covered in blood and looked relieved to see me safe.

It was getting harder to breath by the minute.

"My parents.." I said trying to talk.

"What was that?" The fireman asked.

"My parents they were inside when the fire started" I said louder.

My brother glared at me as I spoke.

"Your brother said that they went out" the fireman said calming me down.

"No, please look inside the house" I insisted.

He hesitated.

But turned to spoke to someone.

They quickly went inside to search.

Before long they brought out my parents but I couldn't get close to them. We weren't allow to get near the ambulance.

"David will they be okay?" I asked starting to cry.

"I told you they will be fine" he said crossing his arms.
