Chapter 61: Nocturne

"Y-Y/N, what are you--"

"I want to help. I want to help you protect Hisashi and take down those Roars of Nocturne or something."

Akane's wide eyes turned into a worried one, she didn't want to involve you in this but you were too stubborn. She released a sigh before responding.

"I cannot let you get involved in our own problem. Besides, you're too young for this and this has nothing to do with you. And aren't you supposed to be in scho--"

You punched her desk with full force, you were so desperate and you can't risk seeing a little boy to be in the hands of that Exodus maniac.

"Please, I beg you, Akane. I want to help, I don't want to see Hisashi in danger. I can help track down their mafia gang and I can even help take them down. I'm stronger than you think, I've been through numerous fights and here I am standing here without a single scratch in me. I'm a hero who doesn't easily let go of something I'm desperate in. So please... please, I want to help. I'm begging you, Akane."

She stared at you in awe. In her eyes, you looked like a heroine whose giving up is not an option. A hero who's been through a lot but is still willing to face danger just to protect someone she loved.

Hisashi...

She glanced at her little brother before turning her gaze back to you. She curved her lips forming into a smile, "Fine. You can help us, Y/N. But if you ever feel like it's too difficult, you can always turn back."

You gave her a smirk, "Never."

"Alright, I found out that they own a slaughter house far from here. It's somewhere in the west, it's where they train their recruiters and also it's where they torture their targets and hostages."

You, Daydream, and even Kyoko-san stared at the map of the city. Akane circled a small black square near the forest with a red marker. It seemed to be the slaughter house.

"We need to know their plan on taking Hisashi and the only way to find out is to go there ourselves. Wakari, you go and spy on a few members of the mafia. I take the lead on getting information about their current status so that means I'll go with you." Akane eventually turned to you with a serious face.

"Y/N, you're in charge of my agency and the most important thing is, guarding Hisashi. You can do that, right?" You nodded, "Of course. I'll do my best."

You were a bit dissapointed that you won't be able to go with them on going into the mafia's place. But you knew that watching over Hisashi is the most important job so you had to keep an eye on the little boy for the whole day.

"Alright, let's go, Wakari-san."

"Wait, why exactly is Kyoko-san involved in this?" You asked in curiosity. You didn't even realize that until now. The said brunette smiled while putting on a strange skull mask.
"I'm a spy, dear." And with that, she disappeared. Your eyes went wide not knowing where she was. "What the?"

"She forgot to teleport me too--"

Akane disappeared a few seconds after. They left you dumbfounded, you never knew that Kyoko was actually a spy and that she had quirk. You thought she was just an ordinary receptionist. Turns out, she was also a fellow undercover and her quirk was pretty powerful too.

"Teleportation... awesome! Wait, I almost forgot! Where's Hisashi?" You spoke to yourself as you began your search for the little boy. You roamed around the whole office, but he wasn't there. You began getting anxious, you just started your job and now you lost him.

Damn it.

You went to the 27th floor, to the 26th, and so on. You reached the first floor and then the basement. It was dark and you couldn't see anything. You abruptly lighted your hands, using your anxiousness to have the power of pyrokinesis as your source of light.

"Hisashi-kun, are you here? Can you please tell me where you a-- Ahh!"

You suddenly stumbled and fell on some kind of a deep well. How is there a well inside a building's basement?

You rubbed your head, it hit the ground the moment you fell. You spreaded the fire to see clearer until You saw some kind of a medium-sized tunnel. You looked up, there was the basement and glanced back to the tunnel as you made your way inside it.

Could Hisashi be somewhere this tunnel leads to?

You crawled and crawled until your feet touched a soft pillow. You grabbed at as some sort of purple light caught your eyes.

"Hisashi...?" You levitated your way to the light and it lead you to a dark sewer.

"I got you." You suddenly heard an unfamiliar voice. You followed it until you ended up seeing a girl with the little boy in her hands.

"Hisashi!" You immediately pulled Hisashi away from her with your telekinesis. You heard his sobs and cries, it was such a painful sound. You placed your arms around him to protect him from that stranger.

"Who are you?!"

You saw her frown and so did her blazing blue eyes. They gave you chills down your spine, her aura was the same as that man who you assumed was one of the Nocturnals.

"There's no point on telling you who I am because now, your soul is mine." All of a sudden she levitated her way to you but before she could lay a finger on your body, you teleported back to the office along with the purple-haired boy.

"Hisashi, are you okay? Who was that? How did you get there?" You gave the poor boy some loads of questions, you didn't realize he needed time to think it out. He looked miserably scared, you knew it caused him a major trauma.

"I'm sorry... I should've been with you... Stop crying, Hisashi. Everything's going to be fine." You embraced him in an assuring hug. He continued sobbing and you were dissapointed in yourself. He could have died or taken and you won't let that happen.

"She... I was only sleeping... when I woke up, I was already in her hands... I-I don't know how I ended up in there... I'm sorry..."

He hugged you back, he needed that comfort. He needed to feel safe and secure and right at that moment, you were the only one who could make him feel that way. "It's okay. From now on, I'll keep my watch on you. You're going to be safe and I won't let them take you.

I promise."

(A/N: Sorry for the short chapter! I'll make the next chapter long if I can. I've been so busy with other things nowadays and man I miss writing here. And yes, I dropped to 47th. I know, it's a bummer but it's alright qwq. I'm still going to continue though, I mean, I've been also arranging some ideas for Y/N's work study arc and well, it actually sounds so great to me. There's life and death situations, some new characters I made up, oh! And Kai isn't Overhaul, alright? 😅 I just happen to like the name and it suits for Kai and Kaori. And because I love Kai from EXO. Oh yeah, I also love Kaori from Your Lie In April so I named a character after her, anddd the character design that I saw on Pinterest looks a bit like her so why not? I'll reveal the pictures of the members of the Elite Squad on the next or on the next next next chapter. I saw them from Pinterest and credits to the owners!)
