Chapter 40: I Want To Be...

"Do you want to be locked up here instead of walking to the right path ahead of you?" You looked at him in surprise.

"Huh?"

"You're my rival's daughter, an undercover at UA, you shared informations to them without us noticing it. Those were your sins." You bit your lower lip before tilting your head back down. "If you're here for insults, then might as well leave now, All Might." You replied coldly.

He stayed quiet for a while before taking a deep breath. Talking to you was going to be harder than what he expected.

"I know All For One for how many years, he was the one who almost destroyed the world, he was the one who overpowered me once, he was the one who killed my..... I knew everything about him and his plans. But what I didn't know was that he had a family. You must've had an awful childhood."

The memory of your Mother's death flashed to your mind. Yes, you had an awful childhood, the worst one you could ever imagine. You were only young since you experienced grief, rejection, and even abuse. Those memories were always dark and you stayed there for how long. One of the people who ruined your childhood was the man sitting in front of you.

"All Might... you have no idea how I despised you. It's not because of my Father's goal of killing you, it's because you killed someone important to me. You were not a hero, that's what I thought. A hero would never break his promise... even though it's just for a little girl." You looked at him with furious eyes, he could feel the tension going on by just looking at it.

"You're no hero." His eyes went wide before he hid it with a serious expression. He didn't know what you meant by breaking a promise but he knew that he wasn't a hero.

"Yeah... I never save people all the time. There's probably someone crying for help right now, but where am I? I'm here, for you." You stared at him with sparkly eyes. He was right, there's always someone in danger in this very moment, but All Might chose to stay here with you. You didn't actually know why he's here but it relieved you a little.

"I understand why you took that mission and why you wanted to become a villain. It's because you wanted to make him proud, right? Well, did you even want to be like him in the first place? Did you also wanted to slaughter random people like your dad?"

You looked away from him as your mother's words clang to your mind.

Follow where your heart desires, don't follow your Dad's path.

"Have you tried killing someone innocent?"

There's still another way.

"Do you wish harassing people instead of saving them?"

You even saved someone you don't know. What do you think does that mean, Y/N?

"Do you also want to be a villain in the future?"

Be who you are, don't become your Father's shadow.

You thought of answers and you finally found them. All Might stayed silent waiting for you to respond since you looked like you were finally thinking harder about what you wanted to be.

I never killed an innocent person, I killed a villain. I don't want to hurt people... I want to save them. But I don't know if I ever want to be a villain... I only did that because I knew Dad would be impressed...

"You saved and protected people, Young Y/N. You even protected me... and healed me while you were talking with your Father."

That time when you were in front of your Dad and All Might was behind you, you used your right hand to heal him while distracting All For One. You had no idea how you had healing powers cause you just kind of imagined it and then, All Might was healed.

"You stood by the good side while facing the darkness, the darkness where you got stuck."

"Do what your heart desires and escape the darkness."

"And now... the light is rapidly showing up, leading you to another path. This time, it's colorful, peaceful, and beautiful. The path of justice, protection, and love."

"There's another way that you never knew existed in your life."

"Most of the people who walked on that path had difficult pasts, but thanks to those tears and sorrow, they became who they are now."

"Let go of the past and write your new story. It takes a heartbreaking beginning to make a heartwarming ending."

Write my new story... and become someone who I wanted to be. I saved people I loved, and even strangers. I protected them with my life on the line but I didn't care. As long as things ends the way I wanted it to be, then I'm okay. Even though it was wrong, it felt good. I liked protecting them. I was alone in that cave, until I found people who helped me escape as they showed me the light. The light that has been waiting for me all along.

"The moment you wake up from this dream, my dear, you'll find the path you were meant to take."

That day when I got unconscious in the middle of the street, I talked to mom in my dream and woke up... it was Toshi. The Symbol of Peace, All Might.

"It breaks my heart to say that you'll soon lose something you always cherished."

I always admired Father but I lost him... he lost me. And so did that villainy...

Be yourself, be someone you wanted to be, choose the right way you wanted to walk on deep inside. I saved, I protected, I worked, I tried, I trained, I loved. I got to do so many things because of that mysterious light, because of my new family of friends. Mr. Aizawa, Midoriya, Iida, Todoroki, Uraraka, Yaoyorozu, Kirishima, Kaminari and the rest of the class, Shin-shin, Edgeshot, Kenji, Toshi, Recovery Girl... Bakugo. They were the people who took me out of the cave. Sure I lost my fire, but now, everything's bright.
