Once upon a time...

the moon—princess of the night—fell in love with the sun—prince of the skies.

She wanted to become his, but because of her duties and responsibilities as the one to rule of utter darkness, she had no choice but to leave him.

He wanted her right by his side. He yearned for her gentle touch. And every day, he waited.

One fateful day, the creatures among the mighty earth witnessed an unexpected collision between both royals.

The couple were reunited once again. Apparently, they could only meet again after several years.

When they realized that, they made sure to cherish every hour they spend together until the end of time.

"Woah... Mommy, so does the eclipse exists because of their love for each other?"

Your mother smiled softly with her fingers brushing against your hair. You were both having a picnic under a cherry blossom tree. It was the first time your mother taught you anything about romantic love.

"Yes, dear," She answered heartily. Her eyes were sealed showing how extremely happy she was with her daughter.

Your big pair of e/c eyes sparkled, "Mom, mom! What about you and Father? You said you only get to meet him once a year!"

"....yes,"

You grinned widely, "If I wait for him, will I be able to meet him again too?"

Your mother's smile weakened slightly, "If you stay patient, then of course. Your Father will surely come and spend time with you, honey."

"Really? Do you promise, Mommy?"

She stared at your grinning face in glee. Oh how she loved to see you so cheerful, even at serious times. Thankfully, you were a good daughter, an adorable one at that.

She grinned back and patted your head gently, "I promise."

"By the way, Mom," She glanced at you with a questioning look, "Hm?"

"There was one time at the park, I fell from the branch of the tree," You began. Her face spontaneously turned to shock, "You what?"

"But I was fine!" You reassured with a chuckle. She breathed out a sigh of relief because of that.

You continued staring at her with sincerity in your eyes, "You see, I fell on somebody. It was a boy with spiky blonde hair."

Your Mother listened to you blissfully as you continued, "His eyes were scary... but even though his hair was spiky and sharp-looking, his hair was unbelievably soft."

You both blinked at each other in silence before she burst out laughing softly.

"What is it, mother?" You raised a brow.

She scoffed, "That sounds adorable, Y/N."

"He hates me though. But even so, it won't matter because I won't be playing in the park anymore...."

Your face was suddenly plastered with melancholy. It was a sight your mother always felt bad for.

Smiling, she brushed her palm against your hair again and whispered, "It's okay, dear. You'll be fine. We'll be fine."

"Promise?"

"Promise."
