"Where could he be?" Serenity taps her foot impatiently. "He couldn't have gotten lost...he knows where I live!" She sighs and gives up.

She sits at her kitchen table defeated.
"What's wrong sweetheart?" Her mother asks her.
"Oh, Luke was supposed to come today to show dad that droid. But he should be here by-"

She then starts to feel sick and gets up from the table. Zayli looks on in concern.
"What is it? Why are you looking like that?" She asks her.
"Luke!" She bolts outside to the backyard. "Dad! Dad Luke is in trouble! I can sense it!"
Ben immediately stands up, "Well lets go!" He exclaims.

Serenity spots Luke lying unconscious on the ground and Tusken Raiders going through his cruiser. He didn't have to take his cruiser...but then again he doesn't like walking long distances... she thinks to herself. She hears her father yowl, scaring both her and the Sand People. Ben then rushes over to the still Luke while Serenity looks on in worry.

"He's alright. Just unconscious." He nods to her. "Hello there." He stands up and looks at something. Serenity couldn't tell what it was since it was hiding. "Come here my little friend, don't be afraid." Serenity hears soft little beeps.
"R2? Is that you?" She asks. The droid responds with a happy beep of recognition. "Don't worry Luke will be alright." She assures R2.

On cue, Luke stirs awake. His blue eyes snap open.
"Rest easy son, you've had a busy day." Her father states as he helps Luke to a seated position. "You're fortunate to be all in one piece."
"You can say that again." Serenity mumbles.

Luke rubs the back of his head and looks up at the pair with squinted eyes.
"Ben? Seren? Ben and Serenity Kenobi?!" He breathes a sigh of relief. "Boy, am I glad to see you guys!"
"You can thank us later." She jokes.
"The Jundland Wastes are not to be travelled lightly." He states and helps Luke stand up.
"So young Luke, my daughter said you were bringing a droid to show me?"
"Yes this little one." He points to R2. "I think he's looking for his former Master but I've never seen such devotion in droid before. Uh, he claims to be the property of an Obi-Wan Kenobi...Seren said you might know him. Is he a relative of yours? Do you know what he's talking about?"
Would Ben tell him the truth?

"Obi-Wan Kenobi...Obi-Wan. That's a name I've not heard in a long time...a long time."

That was a half-lie. The only person that called him Obi-Wan was his wife but never in public and not even around Serenity. The girl had only heard the name once or twice until they finally decided to tell her they're real names.
"I think my uncle knows him. He said he was dead."
Serenity suppressed the laugh trying to escape.
"Oh no he's not dead. Not yet." He smiles.
"Oh so you know him?" Luke asks.
"Well of course I know him! He's me." He points and Serenity lets out the laughter she had been holding in. Luke looked at her weirdly.
"You knew?"
"Of course I did! I'm his daughter. Did you forget?" She asks teasingly.
"I haven't gone by the name Obi-Wan since...oh before you and Serenity were born."
"That's not true." She hits his shoulder lightly. "Mom still calls you that sometimes, not very often but still."
"Well then this droid belongs to you." Luke states.
Ben's brows furrow, "I don't seem to remember ever owning a droid...interesting." The group then hears growling in the distance.
"If we don't want to become Sand People snacks, I suggest we go inside." Serenity says with a nervous air. They get up to leave but R2 stops them with a worried beep.
"3PO." Luke mumbles. The group rushes over to 3PO who's arm was detached from the rest of him.
"Where am I? I must've taken a bad step." He states.
"Well can you stand? We've gotta get out of here before the Sand People return." Luke asks.
"I don't think I can make it, you go on Master Luke. There's no use risking your lives on my account. I'm done for." He says pessimistically.
"No you're not 3PO. What kind of nonsense talk is that?" Serenity rolls her eyes at his dramatics
"Quickly they're on the move." Her father says as him and Luke pick up the sand-filled droid.
"Looks like you'll need another oil bath eh 3PO?" Serenity jokes.

"My father didn't fight in the war. He was a navigator on a spice freighter." Luke says while screwing 3PO's arm back I place.

Serenity was spacing out and not fully paying attention to the conversation. It was something her mother would do as well.
"That's what your uncle told you. He didn't hold with your father's ideals. Thought he should've stayed here and not have gotten involved." Ben strokes his beard.
"You fought in the Clone Wars?" The young man's eyes light up with curiosity.
"Yes." The old man smiles. "I was a Jedi Knight the same as your father."
Luke looks down sadly, "I wish I'd known him."

Serenity puts a comforting hand on Luke's shoulder, she receives a sad smiles from him.
"He was the best Starpilot in the galaxy and cunning warrior...Serenity tells me you've become quite the pilot yourself...and he was a good friend." He smiles, half happy, half sad. Like the memory caused him pain. "Which reminds me..."Ben gets up and moves to a box. "I have something for you." He opens the big wooden box. "Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but you're uncle wouldn't allow it. He feared you would follow old Obi-Wan on some damn-fool idealistic crusade like your father." He hold a lightsaber in his hands.
"Sir, if you'll not be needing me I'll close down for awhile." 3PO states.
Luke nods, "Sure go ahead."

Luke stands up to meet the old man.
"What is it?" He asks him.
"Your fathers old lightsaber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight." He hands it to him. "Not as clumsy or random as a blaster."

Serenity knew her fathers loathed blasters. He thought they were "so uncivilized". Luke ignites the saber and it's light blue blade is revealed.
"An elegant weapon for a more civilized age." The old man sits back down while Serenity chuckles slightly at how rapid Luke is flailing the saber.
"It kinda looks like a lighter version of mine doesn't it father?" She asks while igniting her own. Luke turns around quickly.
"Seren! You're a Jedi?!" He asks excitedly.
"Yeah! I thought you already knew. I just guessed you saw my lightsaber. Father is training me...I'm not quite a full Jedi...but I think I'm pretty close." She deactivates the saber and clips it to her belt.

"For a thousand generations the Jedi Knight were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy in the old Republic...before the dark times...before the Empire."
Luke turned off the lightsaber and sat back down next to her.
"How did my father die?" He asked with urgency. Serenity looked down. She always hated this part of the story. Ben rocked slightly forward.
"A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine, until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights. He betrayed and murdered your father. Now the Jedi are all but extinct."

Luke had a crestfallen look on his face as he learned how his father died.
"Vader was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force." Ben finished.
"The Force?" Luke asked confused. Serenity snickered at his confusion. How could he not know what the Force is? Ben chuckles as well.

"The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field that's created by living beings. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together." He concludes his story. Serenity gets up, tired of sitting still for so long while Ben pats R2 in the head
"Now my little friend, let's see what you are and where you come from."

Finally! Things are going to get interesting she thinks to herself...

A/N: Force! I thought this chapter was never going to end! Hope you liked it! Can't wait to write the next one!
