You arrived at SFIT at six o'clock, where Tadashi was working on his next big project, a nursing bot. He texted you saying that he couldn't be home for dinner with you and Aunt Cass and Hiro. You decided to visit him.
He was the only one still at the school, and he was standing in front of a huge, inflated robot. "Come on, buddy. You can do this. I'm not giving up on you." He rubs his eyes and takes a deep breath. "Okay. Let's try this again." He grabs a small board and holds it in front of him. "This is the 82nd test of my robotics project." He activates Baymax, and the lights flicker,before going out completely. "Seriously!" He growls as he works to get the lights back on. They flicker back on. Tadashi drops down in his chair and shakes his head.
"Tadashi?" You ask quietly.
He looks over and sees you. "___. What are you doing here?"
"I came to check on you," You say, walking towards him. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Just. . . stressed. This isn't working, and-" He breaks off burying his face in his hands. "I just- don't know what to do."
"Tadashi. . ." You murmur, rubbing his back. You notice his shoulders shaking. You'd never seen him cry before. Ever. "Tadashi. It's okay." He shakes his head. "Look at me, Tadashi."
You move in front of him. Tears fall down his cheeks. "Tadashi, you are smarter than anyone I've met. You can do this. I believe in you. I love you." You wipe away his tears and smile. "I'm not giving up on you."
Tadashi smiles. "You're right. I can't give up." He stands up and pulls you into a hug. "Thank you."
"Anytime," You say. You reach up and kiss him. "Dinner?"
"Yeah," Tadashis kisses your forehead. "Let's go to dinner."
