(76): You Can't Leave Me Now

The day had gone slow with little production towards the finding of the mysterious villain, Yokai. You and your team of six all crept down a dimly lit stairwell in an abandoned warehouse on Akuma Island. Hiro wanted to avenge his brother's death, and the only way to do that was to find out Yokai's true identity. Everyone was sure that it was Alistair Krei, who had it out for Professor Callaghan and Hiro's microbots from the start.

"Any sign of him, Baymax?" Hiro asks. He glances at Baymax's scanner, which had been keeping track of Yokai's movement. Now, there was nothing.

"This structure is interfering with my sensor," Baymax says, trying to scan again.

"Oh great. The robot's broken," Wasabi mutters, glancing around nervously.

"Guys, you might want to see this," Honey says.

The lab that you and your seven friends entered was damaged. Seriously damaged. Cracked walls, caved in ceiling, rubble everywhere. Two structures, having a lot of damage themselves, stood in the room.

Go Go observes them. You stand next to Hiro, grabbing his hand. "What do you think they are?" You ask him.

"I'm not sure," Hiro says. "Just stay close, okay?"

"Okay," You say. You look at the one that's still intact. "Um, guys? Look, it's that same bird symbol." Hiro shakes his head. "What's it mean?"

"I don't know," He whispers.

"Hiro," Honey Lemon calls. Above them stood a control room with a flickering light.

"Well, we'd better check it out," You say. Hiro holds you back.

"Please be careful," He says. "I can't lose you, and that staircase doesn't look safe."

"It'll be fine, Hiro." You kiss him. "Now let's go!" You run up the stairs, only to find a screen. A video plays.

"Krei?" Hiro whispers, seeing the man on the screen.

"What?" Everyone gathers around, watching. So Krei invented the portals. Something went wrong. A pod, holding a young woman, was lost.

"Oh no," Honey Lemon whispers.

"Well," You sigh.

"Guys," Fred says. "This is a revenge story."

"We'd better-" Suddenly, the sound of buzzing microbots filled the air. Yokai appeared, standing on a platform of them. Using the microbots, Yokai raises a huge piece of debris and throws it towards the tower where the seven of you, you and your friends, stood. The tower collapses. As everyone falls, Baymax reaches out an arm to shield everyone's bodies. Hiro stumbles away from his reach, and you tug him back. Before grabbing a hold of Baymax yourself, you fall down into the darkness, completely alone.

"No!" Hiro shouts.

In the darkness, Hiro raises his head. Baymax moves off of everyone. "E-everyone okay?" Everyone nods. "___?" He calls. "___?"

"H-Hiro!" You shout, brokenly. Hiro looks in the direction of your voice. He takes off his helmet and tosses it away. He rummages through thr debris you're buried under. When he uncovers you, he sees that you're curled into a ball, your hands grasping a pipe that has impaled your stomach. "How b-bad is it?" You whisper.

"Oh my God," He says, falling to his knees. "___!"

"That bad, huh?" You ask with a smirk. "I don't really feel anything. Hiro's hands touch the pipe. "Ouch, yeah, ouch, okay. That hurts."

"Oh God, no," He whispers. "Um, you'll be okay. Look, Baymax can-"

"Hiro, you have to stop Yokai," You interrupt.

"We will," Hiro says, grabbing your hands. "Together. You and me, ___. Just let-"

"Hiro," You say. "I'm not going to make it."

Hiro pulls you onto his lap. "Don't. . . don't say that. Of course you will!"

"Hiro, I love you." You close your eyes.

"No, no! No! ___, don't do this. Please! I'm sorry that I couldn't-" He breaks off, sobbing. His hands stroke your cheeks. "I'm- I'm- sorry! You can't be gone- you can't- leave me. . ."

Your lips somehow find words with your last bit of strength. "I'm sorry, Hiro." Then, you're gone. Hiro kisses your forehead, his tears falling on your face. 

The team stands off to the side, wiping tears away.

"I-I love you. I'm sorry. . . okay. You can let go, ___, you can. I'll. . .  I'll make this better." He kisses your lips and lays you on the ground. His armor is covered in your blood.

He picks up his helmet and walks to wear Yokai is organizing the microbots. "Hiro," Honey asks, concerned. "What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to avenge my brother and girlfriend," He says. "Baymax, get ready to destroy."
