I can't remember who requested this, sorry, but here's the heartbreaking Sick Reader x Hiro you wanted. I'll give you guys a break on the sad Hiro x Readers and bring you a few happy ones later. (And a Tadashi x Reader & Hiro x Reader New Years)
So, enjoy. (Unedited).

When you first found out that you were sick, you didn't know what to do. You felt so lost. Your life was automatically shortened. You weren't going to make it to your SFIT graduation, you weren't going to have kids or get married or grow old with your boyfriend, Hiro.

Hiro felt especially lost. What was he going to do without you? You were his everything. He decided that making the best out of your last few months was the best way to cope.

Everyday, he would go see you in the hospital, or at home, wherever you were. Today, you were at home, laying in bed. A tray of untouched food sits on your nightstand. As soon as he walks in the door, you grin at him.

"Hey, Hiro!" You say excitedly.

"Hey, ___," He says, easing himself on the side of your bed. "Feeling good?"

You nod. "Seriously am."

"That's great," He says.

"I agree. Lay by me."

Hiro smiles and lays back against the pillows, looking at your (e/c) eyes that were the only features that haven't changed significantly. Your hands find each others, and you scoot closer. Hiro kisses you slowly, his other hand stroking your arm. You pull away, smiling. "God, I love you," Hiro whispers.

"I love you too." You lean in and kiss him, your fingers running through his tangled black hair.

It was three in the morning when Hiro's phone rang. He picked it up and answered with a groggy, "Hello?"

It was (parent/guardian). You passed away just twenty minutes before. Hiro's heart sinks. "S-she's gone?" He croaks out. "Y-yeah, um, thanks for telling me. I'm sorry, too." He hangs up and his phone clatters to the floor. Cass, who was still up and watching movies, goes to check on him.

When she arrives in his room, he's already sobbing. "Hiro, honey, what's wrong?" She asks, running to him.

"She's gone," He manages. Cass sits beside him and he drops his head in her lap. "She's gone."

"I'm so sorry," She says. "What can I do?" Hiro continues to cry.

"Nothing," He mumbles.

"Do you want me to leave you alone, sweetie?" She asks, running her fingers through his hair.

"No," He says, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Okay," She says, a little surprised. When Tadashi died, he was so distant. This is different, but Cass wasn't complaining. She loves her nephew, and wants to do anything to take away the pain he was feeling.

Hiro eventually cries himself to sleep, and even then, Cass holds on to him, until he's deep enough under and she can lay him down. She kisses his forehead and then pulls away.

Four days later, Hiro walks up to a podium in a church. It was your visitation, something he'd been dreading. He stood up there, shakily holding a piece of crumpled paper. Your body lay in a casket before him. Hiro clenches the paper.

"Uh, ___ was my girlfriend and best friend. She still is, really. I-I don't know how I'm going to go on without her. I think about her every minute of everyday. She filled the empty space after I lost my brother. She's always been there for me. Always. I, uh, I love her.

The last day I saw her, I went over to her house. She looked up at me and smiled this huge, beautiful smile, and I-I kept thinking about how she was so strong. She was so happy, so normal sounding- and still, you could see the struggle in every little thing she did. She never gave up. She was sick, but she didn't want to be, so she didn't let it get to her. I-I've never known someone so strong. I love her, God, I love her." Hiro breaks off, blinking tears away. "I miss her." And with that, he nods and walks off.

He sits back in his seat and stares out the window. His friends pat him on the back, but it doesn't help Hiro. He sits there, emotionless around everyone. He didn't want to talk to anyone here. He wanted to talk to you, and you were gone.
