**One month later**

I leaned my back against the bath tub, wiping my mouth with the wet wash cloth after just throwing up.

"This is getting ridiculous. Maybe I should finally go in....." I pick up my phone to look at the time and frown. "I haven't seen Ikkaku for a month now....I wonder if he's still alright..."

I stood up and immediately started the shower "Least I can do is shower and smell less like throw up before I head over to dad's."

--At the Kurosaki's residence--

I was sitting on the hospital bed, waiting for dad to figure out what I have. His hand was on his chin, his eyes closed as he was in deep thought.

"There's only one thing left I want to test but you might not be happy about it." I tilted my head to the side out of confusion, wondering what he's going on about.

Dad walked up to a cabinet and pulled out something that was wrapped in white. He walked over to me and handed it over, "I need you to....go pee on this test for me...."

My eyes widen in shock at what he was asking me "Dad! The fuck are you asking for?! I haven't even-" It dawned on me. My first time with Ikkaku....

I tightened my grip around the test and went straight to the bathroom.

-After taking the test-

I stood by the sink, looking down at the test and waiting for the two lines to just disappear. But they weren't going anywhere.

I heard a knock on the bathroom door, I slowly opened it and walked out. Not knowing how I should feel about the entire situation. Dad watched me sit back down on the hospital bed.

**Isshin's POV**

I watched my oldest daughter sit on the bed. I couldn't help it, my curiosity getting the best of me. I walked into the bathroom and looked down at the test. I couldn't help but smile and run out of the bathroom to squeeze my daughter.

"YOU'RE PREGNANT!" I wrapped her in my arms, giving her a big ol' dad hug. "I'M GONNA BE A PAPA! SO WHOSE THE DADDY?!?" I pulled her away arms length and immediately went into protective mode when I seen her tears flowing down her cheek.

"I-Ikkaku....but I don't know if he's even...." My heart broke for her. With the war coming up and between the Espada and arrancars, who knows whose still alive. I only met the young man a handful of times but he seemed like a good kid. Kisuke kept me updated and let me know when the Head Captain forced them to go back to the Soul Society.

A thought just dawned on me 'Kisuke! He'll know how to get a hold of Ikkaku" I brought my little back in for another hug.

"We'll figure everything out. Don't you worry and take care of that tiny bean. I'll call the hospital and set up an ultrasound for you first thing tomorrow morning. Until then, write a letter to Ikkaku, Kisuke will have a way to get it to him"

All she did was nod and towards the front door "Thanks dad...." And just like that, she was gone.

--Kisuke's shop--

I slid the door open, accidentally slamming it against the wall. It caused everyone in the shop to turn towards me, Kisuke was hiding behind his fan.

"So what brings you to my shop, Isshin?" I looked at him sternly, the tone of his voice let me know that he had an idea.

"How much do you know about what's going on with Midori?"

"I haven't a clue what you're talking about!" Him playing dumb always irritated me. I walked up to him and grabbed his shirt, glaring at him.

"How long Kisuke."

He grabbed my hand and pushed it away, forcing me to let go. "About two weeks ago. Her spiritual pressure changed dramatically. I don't know if it's the baby or if it's her body's natural instinct to protect. But whatever it is, Ikkaku needs to be informed"

All I could do was nod in agreement and followed Kisuke to the backroom. "So how do we go about sending a letter to Ikkaku?"

"We don't. Neither one of us can enter the Senkaimon and sending Midori risks not only the baby's life, but hers as well."

I slammed my fist against the table "Then how the hell do we get a hold of Ikkaku?!"

Kisuke smirked "We don't, but since there's a connection established by Ikkaku and Midori, the spirits within their swords can contact each other!"

I glared at Kisuke, not enjoying the way he pronounced connection. 'Perverted bastard....'

"Midori just has to convince Crevan to send the letter to  Hōzukimaru and he'll take it from there. But to my understanding, Crevan and Midori don't exactly see eye to eye."

I folded my arms "No they don't but they do have an understanding of each other. Even though Crevan doesn't act like it, he does respect her natural strength."

**Midori's POV**

Dad stood in my kitchen, explaining what I must do to get a hold of Ikkaku.

I glance towards my zanpakuto, wondering if Crevan will play ball. I sigh 'Guess there's only one way to find out.'
