Chapter Eleven

**Ikkaku's POV**

I stared at Midori, I couldn't help but smile and admire her beauty. She was sleeping soundly next to me. 'This girl...I'm going to come back, no matter what....'

A soft knock interrupted my thoughts and I looked at the intruder disturbing my peace. It was Yumichika. I pulled the covers over Midori's shoulders and protected her body from any other eyes. 

Yumichika's face was red "So um.....Captain Hitsugaya was here just a moment ago....." My eyes widened in fear "He heard um *cough* everything.....and said to meet him at Orihime's house for a meeting with the Head Captain...."

I looked at Midori's peaceful face, leaning towards her ear I whispered "Just wait for me......"

-Orihime's house, Ikkaku POV-

Me and Yumichika walk into the room with the Soul Society TV ( I honestly do not remember what it's called or if it has a name) everyone turned towards us except for Captain Hitsugaya. I noticed his cheeks were slightly pink and I couldn't help but chuckle.

Head Captain Yamamoto appeared on the screen. Ichigo and the Head Captain were bickering, I didn't pay much attention. Instead, I was wondering if Midori was going to be okay while I was away. Captain Yamamoto's words pulled me out of my thoughts.

"You will all be returning to the Soul Society. End of discussion." My eyes widened 'What the fuck did I just miss?!' I sensed a familiar spiritual pressure behind me. When I looked behind, my captain and Captain Byakuya were there, waiting to guide us to the Soul Society.

I felt my heart stop and push towards the small crowd, pleading "Head Captain wait! Let me stay here in the world of the living just a bit longer." As the Head Captain raised his eyebrows, I could see his eyes. "For what reason?"

"To say goodbye to someone." I heard his staff against the ground "I forbid it!" My heart sank 'Midori.....'

**Ichigo'sPOV**

Ikkaku's hopeful expression faltered, I never seen him look so depressed. Yumichika was standing behind me and whispered words only I could hear "He wants to say goodbye to your sister....." 

My eyes widened as I stared at Ikkaku "Then give me a moment to write a letter! I can even do it here!" Yamamoto was quiet for a moment "I will give you five minutes" Ikkaku immediately started searching for paper and something to write with.

I walked up to him and handed him a pen. "I'll take it to her" Ikkaku glanced up at me in shock, it looked like a single tear was forming but I couldn't tell. He responded by nodding his head and started scribbling words.

Ikkaku took up all five minutes to write his letter and Yamamoto's voice boomed "Time's up!" Ikkaku stopped writing and folded the letter, handing it to me immediately. "Please head straight there. I don't want her to misunderstand when she wakes up."

Yumichika started pulling Ikkaku away "Head straight there! Ya hear me?!" I look at the note in my hand and look back up at Ikkaku "I will"

I could see relief written all over his face and soon, he disappeared. I immediately jumped out of Orihime's window and headed towards Midori's place.

**Midori's POV**

I woke up by myself, I held the blanket close to my chest and looked around. 'Ikkaku isn't here.....is this....' No, he's not like him. Ikkaku wouldn't do that to me. I started putting on pajama's, short shorts and a tank top, quiet gasping could be heard and my heart started to sink. 'It can't be.....'

I open my bedroom door only to reveal Ichigo on my couch, hunched backwards as he was catching his breath. "Oh good, you're awake." He lifted his hand and in it was a note. "This is from Ikkaku. He was forced to go back to the Soul Society."

Even though he wasn't with me, knowing that he still thought of me before he left made my heart skip a beat. 

I grabbed the note from Ichigo and started unfolding it. 

 Midori,

This wasn't my intention to just leave you but the Head Captain ordered a meeting and then ordered us to come back to the Soul Society. I asked to come say goodbye but he would only allow me to write you this letter.

I don't know when I will be coming back to the world of the living, I don't know if I'll even see you before the war that's coming up in winter. But I'm going to try dammit. 

I want to be with you Midori, I'll come back for you, I swear. Just wait for me.

Ikkaku

I couldn't help but smile 'he didn't just leave me....' relief overwhelmed me to the point I started to cry. "Hey now! What did that asshole say?!" Ichigo snatched the letter and looked over it, a small smile forming.

"Ikkaku's a good guy. I know he'll keep his promise unlike that dickhead you were dating." I couldn't help but chuckle at Ichigo's remark. 

Ichigo wrapped his arms around me, giving me a big hug. "Everything's going to be alright sis."
