Chapter 38: Alone

[NICKS P.OV]

"Hey Nick your turn" Billy said into the walkie talkie making all three of us jump.

I gave Zak a nod and walked out setting my camera by Billy and hurrying out the door. I walked to the door accidentally letting it slam behind me, I opened the car door and looked around.

"Ash?" I asked.

I pulled out my phone and called her, I saw her phone light up and glow with my name and a golden heart emoji. My heart sank as I put away my phone and picked up hers trying to open it,

"Damnit Ash" I muttered trying to remember the phones code.

I put her phone in my pocket and looked around shutting the door.

"I can't tell Zak, it'll freak him out" I thought.

"Ok I have 2 hours to find her... Where would she go?" I thought again.

It clicked and I ran down the street for a few miles and turned to face the sign for the graveyard that Mason is in.

{ASHLEY'S P.O.V}

I sat next to Masons grave crying.

"I'm sorry I let this happen, I wish it would of been me and not you.. I miss the calls and the calling of names. Nothing's helping me, Zak said time heals all wounds but not this, time teaches me how to deal with it and move on" I rambled

I heard a twig snap and I jumped staying low knowing it was way past the hours and I'm going against the law.

"Ashley, I know you're here" Nick said through the dark.

I kept quite, I don't want to talk to anyone, I just need to be by myself until my small depression/death episode passes. I got up and tried moving away from Nick fast, I slammed into his chest and we both collapsed on eachother.

"Haven't we done this before?" Nick asked,

I got up and ran off, Nick ran after me grabbing my arm and pulling me back.

I looked at his face and the outline of his body from the dim street lamp above

"What's wrong" he asked trying not to be angry,

"I just have to be alone Nick, I can't be around you, Zak Billy or Aaron" I cried,

"Ash" Nick sighed,

"No I can't, I just can't." I mumbled crying.

"Zak is switching out with me in 45 minutes come on we have to get back" Nick said leading me,

"I can't" I said not budging,

"Ashley come on!" He said starting to get annoyed,

"No" I said wiping the tears away,

"Damnit Ashley" Nick said turning around and walking away.

"Nick" I called, he turned around and looked at me,

"I'm sorry I ran away, I miss my brother... And you're just too good for me, and I thought I didn't deserve you." I confessed bringing the sleaves of the hoodie up covering my hands.

"Ash, I think it's me that doesn't deserve you. But we love eachother anyway." Nick said back walking closer to me setting my hands in his,

He looked at me and slowly brought his face down to meet mine in a soft light kiss.

"Come on" he said after pulling away,

I grasped onto his arm as we headed back. I still had one of his arms locked with mine as we walked back to the car just as Zak walked out.
