Chapter 16: Not Again

The flight was long and heartbreaking, Nick and I ran from the terminal to the baggage claim as people looked at us funny. Billy was waiting for us and let out a small chuckle when he saw us. People with cameras took pictures of Nick,Billy and I as we walked outside. Billy didn't really say anything as we drove to the hospital. As we walked in the hospital Billy gave me his jacket, I put it on and followed Billy to Zak's room. Aaron was already in there sitting in the corner. I walked in looking at Zak, not as bad I thought. He was sleeping with a couple of big bruises, and stitched up gashes. I walked over to him and took his hand,

"Dad?" I asked,

he opened his eyes and looked at me,

"Hey Ashley" he said smiling,

"You flew from Boston to Vegas?" He asked,

"Yes all for you" I said smiling.

"Well Mr Bagans" the doctor said coming into the room,

"You seem to be reacting lovely to the medications and you should be free to go tomorrow, and yes you can go on the lockdown." He said smiling,

I started to cough.

"You ok?" Nick asked,

"I must of caught something running around in my bra." I said, then realizing how bad that sounded,

"what" Zak and the doctor asked at the same time.

"I was asleep when Billy called me and I didn't change so I ran through the airport like this then Billy gave me his jacket" I explained.

"Oh okay, well I'll get you some cough syrup." The doctor said.

He walked out of the room and came back in a little later with meds and the cough syrup for me,

"Take this once a day for 3 days." The doctor said smiling.

I got up and sat by Nick,

"Well you guys I'm going home, because I need to pack" Aaron said getting up,

"Ok bye Aaron" we all said,

I laid on the couch as Nick laid next to me. The beeping of Zak's heart monitor relaxed me to sleep.

I woke up in Nick's arms again.

I panicked and pushed him awake.

"What's going on are you okay?" He asked tired

"Zak didn't get into a car accident did he?" I asked crying.

I checked my phone and Nick softly grabbed me.

"Ash Zak is fine, no car accident, it was a bad dream okay?" He said

He took out his phone and called Zak, it rang a few times before he picked up.

"Hey dude its like 1am over here what's wrong?" Zak asked

"You need to talk to Ashley, she got a nightmare and it was about you getting into a car accident." Nick explained.

He handed the phone to me and I listened to Zak explain it was only a bad dream.

When I was calmed down I finally could hang up the phone and go back to sleep. When I woke up I saw Nick getting ready, he looked at me and smiled.

"What?" I asked.

"Happy almost birthday" he said.

I looked at my phone seeing my birthday was next week. I looked back at Nick who had a smug look on his face.

"Well let's get to that plane" I said laughing.

"Well away we go" Nick said grabbing out tickets.

When we got out of the airport and made it to the connecting airport Zak and Aaron were meeting us at, I made my way to find food with Aaron. Once we found food, our main flight was beginning to be boarded. We boarded the plane I sat next to Nick as Aaron and Zak sat in front of us.

"OH MY GOD ASHLEY BESTIE!!!" I froze and grabbed Nick's hand.

"Oh no" I said looking straight ahead.

"What?" Nick whispered.

"It's her" I mumbled,

"oh"  Nick said.

"OMG Nick how are you?" Liv said leaning close to Nick.

My eyes turned red,

"I'm good" Nick said smiling,

"Well I hope you know that Ashley is a fake and her dad only adopted her because he wanted to boost his popularity" liv said.

"That is NOT TRUE" Zak said pissed getting up from his seat.

I buried my head in Nicks chest.

"Please go to your seat you aren't allowed up here" I looked up and saw Linda escorting Liv away from us to her seat, which was a couple rows behind us and on the other side.

Nicks phone went off, we both looked at the message,

"Nick.. I thought I'd never text you this but, that girl is making googly eyes at you and you need her to back off.." It was from Zak.

"You're gonna make this worse than what it is just leave it." Nick replied,

I saw Zak throw his hands in the air and his head back,

"Got it?" Nick replied.

Liv got out of her seat one more time and came up to Nick, here's my number, I hope you use it." She said then winked at him.

"Stay off of my man" I steamed and stood up towering over the short girl.

She went back to her seat and sat there. Nick gently grabbed my arm telling me to sit back down. I sat down and looked at Nick, he jumped a little,

"I have never seen your eyes so red...Is that black?" Nick said,

I looked at my camera, my eyes the color of Zak's album cover with a small run of black.

"It's ok" Nick said to me pulling my head into his chest.
