Chapter 27: Moving On

I opened the door,

Nick ran into me pressing his lips against mine. I set my hand on his chest and softly pushed him away.

"I can't" I mumbled,

"Please let me explain" Nick said.

"Fine" I sighed.

"My ex wife gave you the papers, but I went to the court house and they have the real ones! She photocopied them Ash. I love you and only you" he said.

"You're gonna have to love someone else Nick... I just can't deal with all of this anymore." I said fighting back tears.

"So this is it... We are breaking up?" Nick asked sadly.

"I guess" I said,

We looked at eachother for a split second, as I broke away from his gaze I mumbled,

"You should go" Nick nodded his head and walked out of the door into the dusk night.

I shut the door and walked back over to the couch, Larken lifted his head. I laid on the couch as Larken moved on my lap I looked down at him,

"You're 95 pounds.. You're not a lap doggie" I said smiling.

I felt my phone vibrate, I opened my messages and looked at one from Zak,

"Hey what's up?" He asked

Me: "Nick came over..."

Zak:"Ugh what happened?"

Me: "He tried to kiss me.. And we kinda broke up"

Zak:"I know it was hard darlin but it will get better"

Me: "Thanks dad :)"

Zak: No problem We just got to the hotel, New York is pretty coolio.. I'll have to get ya somethin"

Me: "You don't have too"

Zak: "Oh but I will, I can't help feeling guilty for your break up"

Me: "Don't be.. It was going to happen I guess"

Zak: "Well it's around midnight here so I am going to head to bed, goodnight darlin"

Me: "Night dad :)"

I looked at Twitter to people sending edits of Nick and I. I typed in the box,

"I'm taking time off from Twitter for some personal reasons, I hope you understand" I sent it and closed the app,

I tapped and held it and deleted Twitter off my phone. I started to fall asleep on the couch clutching on Larken. I was woken up by my phone, blinded by my screen I squinted at the time,

9:30 am.

I answered my phone,

"Hi?" I asked groggy

"Hi, is this Ashley Bagans?" A male voice asked,

"Who is calling?" I asked starting to wake up,

"It's Taylor.. Lautner" he said.

I was surprised that he wanted to talk to me.

"Oh hi, yea this is Ashley" I said all bubbly.

"I saw your Twitter and just wanted to see if everything is okay" he said,

"Um yeah everything is fine" I lied

"Ashley, spill" Taylor said stern.

"Fine, Nick and I broke up" I mumbled.
