Wen Zhuhei didn't know why he almost wanted to cry at those words. His heart felt really warm, and he clenched his fist lightly as he smiled. A home... a place where he belonged.

"Thank you for everything." Wen Zhuhei muttered in a soft voice.

Chen Shujin's heart warmed at Wen Zhuhei's almost tearful voice. How could Wen Zhuhei be so adorable in this world? It was so different yet Chen Shujin also couldn't help it as his heart warmed out of his control.

"No need for such words. From this day on, you will be my person." Chen Shujin declared this with all seriousness. If he ever found Wen Zhuhei's 'parents', things were not going to end up in a pretty sight, that he promised.

As they walked into a large meeting room, Chen Xueyi was already waiting. It was already deep into the night, and though vampires did sleep too, they didn't need as much sleep as normal humans, especially since they do enter slumbers too.

"Sit, we have some matters to discuss." Chen Shujin said this to both Wen Zhuhei and Chen Xueyi.

Wen Zhuhei sat next to Chen Shujin and Chen Xueyi sat opposite of them. Chen Xueyi sent a curious glance towards Wen Zhuhei before his attention turned away to the matter at hand.

"I already have everything ready for you to announce your return. I've sent information to our vampires who reside in the human cities to also make sure news of your return will be heard. Since the gates around our city are heavily protected, no vampire hunters or human will be able to enter. The humans also fear us vampires, so there is almost no chance of them even stepping near our city." Chen Xueyi took a stack of paper as he said this and handed it to Chen Shujin.

Chen Shujin accepted it as he glanced over it without a care. Seeing that Wen Zhuhei also kept glancing at the papers, Chen Shujin handed it over to the boy as he looked at Chen Xueyi. "Go on."

Chen Xueyi sent a glance once more to Wen Zhuhei before he resumed, "There is still a deep enmity between the humans and the vampires, hence your return will lead the humans into panicking. But, if they should ever wish to wage war once again, the vampires have already entered many of the secret organizations that the humans are in. I've also been sending some spies to get into the human's government and to mislead them."

"Not much has changed during the years you've been gone. Although the world has evolved in its use of technology, that is about it. There are already many internal conflicts within the human population, and as the vampires have already issued the order to wipe-out any countries that dares to attack us, many of the countries have already retreated back into the dark. That is all I have to report." Chen Xueyi finalized what he had to say with that.

Chen Shujin merely stared on with a rather cold glance before he looked at Wen Zhuhei at his side and brought up, "I want to send Zhuhei to the best vampire school. Get everything ready for me."

Wen Zhuhei's hands that held the paper slightly shook but he didn't say anything. He could already have an idea of what Chen Shujin was trying to do now, and it almost felt like he was merely waiting for this now.

Chen Xueyi nodded his head without asking any questions. Once Chen Shujin decided on something, it was near impossible to get him out of that idea. "I will get everything ready and transfer all the documents and such." Chen Xueyi quickly wrote down some key details on a paper before he looked back up again.

"Also, the Third and Fourth Lord have been wanting to speak with you."

Chen Shujin raised his brows at that as his eyes glared down while he replied, "Tell them to meet me tomorrow. It's already deep into the night, I still have some matters to clear up for the rest of today."

Chen Xueyi didn't say anything else after he got that reply. "What are your plans from here on then? You've brought in a vampire, a half-blood at that." He glanced at Wen Zhuhei who merely looked down quietly without a word.

"You should know my plans after what you did to Hai Nianlu. Also, find her father and warn him. Since I've just returned, I'll be kind and leave him in his position but if anything else arises, I won't make any compromises." Chen Shujin's voice wasn't harsh as he said this but there was a slight hint of murderous intent behind it that even Wen Zhuhei was able to catch.

Chen Xueyi's eyes widened as he caught what Chen Shujin was trying to say. He glanced at Wen Zhuhei. The boy seemed a bit too kind to be able to take over Chen Shujin's role. Chen Shujin was rather different from Wen Zhuhei and Wen Zhuhei seemed too innocent in a sense.

"I will do as you say, just make sure to watch out then." Chen Xueyi finally said, not trying to fight against what his brother had already stated.

"Can I speak with the Second Lord for a moment, Shujin?" From beside Chen Shujin, Wen Zhuhei, who hadn't said a word, quietly rose his voice.

Chen Shujin looked over as Wen Zhuhei asked that and nodded his head before he turned to Chen Xueyi.

Chen Xueyi also nodded his head to signify that he understood.

"Alright, I'll be out then. Take your time and ask all the question you have, he should be able to tell you almost everything." Chen Shujin stated as he stood from his chair and began to walk out of the room.

Wen Zhuhei stared as Chen Shujin was finally gone before he looked back at Chen Xueyi and took a deep breath, beginning to ask some questions.

Chen Shujin had stepped out of the room on his own accord, wanting to give Wen Zhuhei some private time so that he could ask the questions he wasn't able to. Now, he strolled around just to look and admire the dark night.

"Your Majesty!" A female voice called out.

Chen Shujin turned back to look at a female vampire with red hair, a scar on her lips as she walked towards him and bowed.

"Hongxue, how have you been?" Chen Shujin asked as Lu Hongxue stopped by his side.

"Your Majesty, I have been well in the recent years. In fact, the Aces have been awaiting your return for a long time now. It is to our greatest joy that you have finally awaken from slumber." Lu Hongxue was one of the generals that led the clan that belonged to Chen Shujin. She was also a half-blood vampire turned by Chen Shujin.

"I have been in slumber for a long time now, how has everyone been?" Chen Shujin asked as the two walked side by side. His gold eyes were a shade darker, but they shone brightly in the dark corridors as they walked without any light. A vampire's vision was especially good, they didn't need any light to see in the dark.

"We have all been well, Your Majesty. Everyone has been training to the best of their capability and we have also been working hard. I have sent in some vampires to scout out for any vampire hunters and also sent in some vampires to mix with the human." Lu Hongxue earnestly spoke about some of the things she had done. 3,500 years old now, she looked up to Chen Shujin as her savior for giving her the chance to to defeat some of the people who had nearly killed her.

The two walked on as Lu Hongxue told Chen Shujin some of the things that had happened in the recent years, the ones that Chen Xueyi had skipped out on.

"Your Majesty, I heard that you have brought someone in that you wish to be the successor. Please let me meet him! I wish to fully protect him as I know that you will be sending him away to the vampire academy." Lu Hongxue was the first to bring up this topic as she bowed once more and awaited Chen Shujin's reply.

Chen Shujin was a bit surprised by Lu Hongxue's honest actions. Although he did know that Lu Hongxue didn't fear Chen Shujin like many did, he was still a bit shocked that Lu Hongxue didn't waste any time before jumping into what she really wanted to talk about.

But, thinking about it now, this would be a good thing. Since his plan was for Wen Zhuhei to attend a vampire academy, if he had some people to protect him, Chen Shujin could be assured that nothing bad would happen.

"Hongxue, how did you find that out?"
