I blinked my eyes open into a dimly lit room, I was on a bed, and I had slept, well. I looked around to find there were two people standing near the door in the corner, I got up and my shoulder protested, a man stepped forward,
"That's not such a good idea, go back to sleep, you need it." He suggested,
"No." I refused, I wasn't going to be here any longer than I needed too, I don't want to be around people anymore, ever.
"Yeah you are. We just saved your life, you could be more grateful." He said, guiding me back to the bed, I stayed put,
"You could have left me there to die. I have no one to live for." I explained shortly,
"Look, you were bitten by a brown snake, and were barely alive when we found you." He added,
"So? All the more reason to leave me there." I pointed out,
"We can sedate you." He warned,
"I'd like to see you try." I spat (figure of speech spat), reaching for the knife I usually had tucked under the waistband of my jeans, it wasn't there, they had searched me more than I was comfortable with. The man signalled for the other person, a woman, to go and she left the room. "You took my knife," I snarled at him,
"Well, yes, we were unsure of your sanity levels, also, we saw your skills with your friend against the zombies." He said,
"You know nothing about her!" I screeched, launching myself at his throat with my hands outstretched, my fingers touched around the back of his neck and his eyes widened, he backed against the wall as I tightened my grip, I smiled back. But I didn't wring his neck, but instead drew my fist and slammed it into his stomach, he doubled over. I grabbed his hair and pulled his face into my knee, blood trickled from his nose and just to be sure, I kicked him where it hurts. He fell and I raced for the door, twisting the handle and opening it into a hallway, identical doors lined it. Ran to the one on the end, I was near the other end but my pursuer was in no state to run. I reached the door quickly and pushed it open, on the other side was a large room, full of people. I approached a desk, walking calmly, as if I belonged there.
"Hi," I greeted to the woman there, she smiled,
"Hello, how can I help you." She said professionally, these people actually trained to do this crap?
"Um, I was taken in here after a snake bite, and my weapons were taken off me. I'll need them back if I'm to leave." I said, adding an edge to my voice.
"Leave?" She echoed,
"Yes." I growled, gritting my teeth,
"Why? We have every thing here." She said, puzzled,
"You don't have my friends," the lie slipped easily,
"I'll notify the teams to find them." She decided,
"They won't recognise the teams, they will recognise me." I decided to bring forward my sophisticated side, resisting leaping over the desk to strangle her,
"Fair point, we can arrange send you with them." She said, obviously feeling pretty clever,
"No, I would prefer to go alo-" I was cut off as the man stumbled through the door,
"Get her! She's an armed runaway, she's also mentally unstable, be careful!" He yelled, and at least twenty people turned towards me, the woman behind the desk backed away, "Come on then!" I chuckled insanely, a security guard from the edge of the room pulled a gun, looking at what I guessed to be a superior for permission to shoot, he nodded. Son of a- , the gun went off with a loud bang and I dropped instantly, the noise made my ears ring,it hit me in the shoulder, but I didn't feel the pain, if I was going down, I was going down remembered. I rose from the ground, blood seeping from the wound made on my shoulder, adrenalin coursed through me. The guard aimed again, but I ran straight towards him, as his finger moved towards the trigger I dodged to the side, and the message from his brain was too late to be changed, so he made a sloppy shot that was just to the side of where it was supposed to be, a screech sounded and I knew it hit an innocent, good.

Yes, the main character may be insanely insane, but that's what you get from a zombie apocalypse, and from me being the writer.... Anyway, hope your life is going well, that you had a nice christmas, and that you have a nice new year. Happy 2015 in two days! Sorry it's really short again, I've been writing my other book, and reading.
