My offence instincts kicked in and I snapped my eyes open, ready to fight off whoever it is.

Blue eyes stared back at me, stern and unapologetic.

Zane.

There was an inferno behind his eyes, his anger was evident in his rough grip.

My eyes widened in surprise and I pressed back at the wall. He was so close, head bend at my level as he clenched his jaw. He placed his finger on his lips, indicating me to be quite.

My eyebrows were knotted together but I flicked my eyes around us, no one is here, yet. I silently nodded at him and that seems to be enough for him because he moved back, allowing me space to breathe. I took in a gulp of air as I tried to console my raging heart.

He didn't give me a chance, as he grabbed my wrist and started moving, I was yanked behind him. I wanted to stop, to resist but that isn't possible when you are spying in a station so I let him drag him back.

We rounded the hallways and corridors back to the storage closet I had come from. Only after we were behind the closed door did he stop. He let go of my hand opened the back door by an inch.

" Zane why are you here," I asked him in a hushed whisper but he never replied. Instead when the coast was clear he again claimed my hand and rushed me across the parameter.

I jogged to keep up with his long strides, I wanted to know more, I did. But any wrong more now and we will be behind the bars. So I didn't resist and instead let him lead the way.

He guided me past the bush and past a few houses before he took a turn. There between the two houses, he had parked his bike, hidden below a looming tree. He moved to his bike but I didn't follow.

" Zane why are you here. Where are you taking me" I asked him in a clear voice, it halted his movements.

He turned back to face me, his well-controlled emotions painted his face in a glaring contrast. His lips were pressed in a thin line as if he was trying to stress whatever he wanted to say.

" How can you be so stupid. You could have gotten killed" he hissed at me, running his hand through his hairs as he turned his back at me.

I didn't understand what he said but his words were biting.

" That is just exaggerating it and it is none of your business what I do" I whispered through clenched teeth as I glared at him.

He was about to say something but thought better of it.

" Get on" he ordered simply and climbed on his bike, removing it from the stand and clutched the handle.

I stubbornly remained planted in my place.

" No, I am not going anywhere with you"

His eyes flashed and he got down from his bike, stomping towards me.

He can to a halt within inches of me, eyes glaring at me as he clenched his teeth. I didn't step back, I held my ground and returned his stare.

" I meant what I said, you could have gotten killed today and I am not bluffing" he spoke in a strained voice.

It wasn't his statement that made me believe the severity of the situation, it was the seriousness reflecting off him. He looked at me, studying my expressions while all I could do was stare back in shock.

He took that as some sort of confirmation because he took hold of my hand and pulled me to his bike. I climbed the bike after him and he started the engine, driving through the road.

I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath, spacing the questions swirling in my head.

Each one stood one above the other and I didn't had an answer to any of them.

A dull headache started to show its presence, a light pain started to build at my temple. I pushed through it and tried to concentrate on where we were going.

I was expecting to be back at the house but when Zane stopped at a shabby parking space I grew suspicious. There was nothing as far as I could see in the dark, but a staircase with a separation leading to God knows where.

I extended my color into daggers the size of my palm and took a step back.

Even if his family seemed normal and genuine that isn't a guarantee to what Zane has in mind. I need to be cautious and the hell with me if I don't put my safety before a pretty face.

Zane turned to me, his face a blank mask with anger controlled.

" Why are we here Zane," I asked him, my voice echoing in the dead silence of the night.

"You came to Urydale to find about something and I am going to give you that. Whatever you want to know," he spoke calmly and started to walk down the stairs, assured that I will take the offer, grab the bait laid out for me.
