It was most like other days, the sun shone through the window, dancing lights across the walls and floor. Your dress was suited to the weather, or that was what Dala had said, once again it was another gold dress, that was apparently gifted from Frigga, it was definitely an unexpected gift, but you accepted it all the same.

You walked over to the library, a place that you found yourself in often, it had been a whole two weeks since you started living in the Palace

You walked over to the library, a place that you found yourself in often, it had been a whole two weeks since you started living in the Palace. Nothing interesting really happened as the days went by, while Thor would train, you would hang around with Loki, enjoying every second of his company. He became quite lively after a while, a little more open, he seemed to laugh more when it was just you and him. He would cause mischief all over the castle, turning Thor's wine into slugs just as he drinks it, or changing the colour of clothing on Odin or someone of importance, pink definitely did not suit the All Father. You fell over onto the plush cushions in the corner of the library, you much preferred them to the hard gold chairs that would leave gem imprints on your skin. Sighing contently, you opened your book carefully so not to damage the spine too much, the pages were rough, dull yellow and thick, holding a different part of the story on every page. You planned to relax today, silently praying that Thor wouldn't try to make you watch him spar with his friends. The clashing of metal against metal quickly gave you a headache everytime, realising that you had already finished your book, baring in mind you only started reading it two days ago, you stood up from your comfy confinements in search for another one. Looking carefully on each shelf for the perfect novel, you didn't hear Loki creeping up behind you, you felt something grab your shoulders, making you spin around in fright

"Boo" Loki said, a huge grin plastered on his face, you chuckled once getting over your initial shock

"Thank you for almost giving me a heart attack mister." you said, turning back towards the books, reading each spine until one would catch your attention

"I would of saved you if that was to happen, are you looking for a new book?" he asked inquisitively, his hand still holding your shoulder

"Yes, have any in mind?" your cheeks going slightly red, which Loki took note of

"Many." he replied, moving closer to you, his hand left your shoulder, and laid lightly against your waist, causing you to blush even further. Loki recently started doing things like this, and everytime it got you flustered

"Well please, tell me what you got in mind." you looked up at him, immediately spotting the mischievous sparkle to his eye

"There is this one book, but you would probably find it so boring." he waved his other hand in the air, slowly leaning closer to you

"Just tell me." you said slightly impatiently, trying to control you already tomato face

"I don't think you'll like it though, it's just so, you know." he smirked down at you knowing he was getting a reaction out of you, already growing impatient you turned to face him fully, a small smile on your face, you didn't realise how close he was

"Come on Loki, just tell me." your chests were pressed together, your back almost hitting the bookshelf, you spoke barely above a whisper, not trusting your own voice

"It doesn't matter, it's just an average book." the smirk on his face grew even bigger, both your noses touching, you could feel his breath on you face, a rich mint smell that made your head spin, but in a good way

"Loki." you warned, hoping Thor wouldn't walk in and see you and Loki so close, this was something you did not want to explain to Odin

"Y/N?" Loki teased back, leaning further down his lips ghosting yours, you wanted nothing more than to kiss him and you were pretty sure he knew that

"Stop messing around Loki, tell me the name of the book." every word you said your lips would lightly touch his, sending electric shocks through your body, a smile was stuck on your lips, still wanting to know where Loki was going with this

"My heart and other black holes." Loki said, now moving to press his lips on yours, you closed your eyes ready for the contact, but nothing came, opening your eyes, now really confused with what happened. You saw Loki leaning against the other book shelf opposite you, as your senses returned to you, the sound of footsteps was evident, and Loki's smirk was huge

"That's the name of the book." he said as if nothing happened, you nodded, still flustered and looked towards where the steps were coming from, Dala stopped when she saw you, small beads of sweat ran down her forehead

"I've been looking everywhere for you, last place I thought you'd be was the library." she said, giving Loki a bit of a funny look

"Well this is where I usually am." you looked around the library lovingly

"Well I'm here to inform you, well both of you since you're here too." she bowed a little for Loki, who nodded in response

"The All Father is having a feast tonight, in celebration of Thor's recent success of his last quest, once you're done here please return to your chambers Y/N, I have a dress fitted for you." Dala smiled at you, wiping her forehead with the back of her hand

" Thank you Dala, I'll be down in a minute, I just have to get a new book. " you said, raising your eyebrows playfully at Loki, Dala nodded before leaving quickly, clearly eager to get this day over. Turning to Loki who had adopted the look of being innocent now, held a book in his hand, holding it out for you to take

" Here you are."

"Thank you very much, your Majesty." you chuckled turning on you heels and advancing towards the door

"I'll see you tonight." you called over your shoulder, knowing all too well, Loki was smirking once again, causing you to smile to yourself, still slightly flustered from earlier, hoping that it would happen again sometime.

A/N: okay so 'My heart and other black holes' is actually a book, written by Jasmine Warga, I've never read it, but I came across it a few days ago and it caught my attention. So I decided to add it to my book as I feel like it is something Loki would actually read. Anyway apart from that, tysm for reading and until next time 💕✌️
