Jennie's Pov

I was here at my office since morning finishing up the report that's due tomorrow, as I'm heading towards the coffee table, my phone rings, and without looking at the caller's id I answered it.

"Hello?" I said through the phone while I continue walking to the coffee table getting some papers.

"Wassup Jendeuk, want to grab some lunch together?" she asks me, I was now sitting on the couch holding the papers with both hands while my phone was between my ear and shoulder.

"Sorry Chu but I still need to finish my report due tomorrow," I said to her apologetically.

"Oh okay, I'll just ask Chaeng instead, bye mandu ppong," she said before she hangs up, ugh she's always giving me weird nicknames.

I continue working on my report, as I look at the time on my wrist, it's passed lunch already, I lost track of time until I heard my stomach grumbles, gosh I need to eat something, I already skip breakfast and if I'll skip lunch too then I think I'm going to pass out anytime.

Before I can walk towards the door I received a message from my best friend.

Jichu

1:23 pm

Yah Jendeukie don't wear your scrubs and coat if you're eating your lunch outside, just a friendly reminder. Oh and also I wish you all the best. Good luck Ppong!

I furrowed my brows while reading Jisoo's text. Ugh what she's up into. I have no choice but to take Chu's advice, I'm wearing a white shirt and denim pants, but because I'm always wearing scrubs I've forgotten to bring some extra shoes so I just wear my white Chanel slippers, I just shrug, at least it's comfy

I make my way towards the elevator, heading downstairs to grab some lunch, I'm going to eat at the restaurant near the hospital because I still have to finish my report.

As I walk out the elevator and head towards the exit,  I pass the sliding door and out of the hospital, my eyes went wide and gasps when I saw a familiar figure standing outside. She hasn't seen me yet, so I'm thinking to run back inside but my feet won't even move.

Shit Jen move! Oh my God Oh my God, she can't see me here I'm not ready yet, I need to hide like right now, when I was about to run back inside when she turns her head towards my direction. Oh Crap.

She smiled at me and she waves a little, how am I going to ignore that smile, so I also smiled back at her, yeah that's how whipped I am right now.

I saw her walking from where I'm standing, moments later, she was now in front of me and I was speechless, I don't know what to say, I think she notices it because I heard her clearing her throat before talking.

"Hi Jen, how have you been?" she said, still smiling while scanning my face.

I can't help but to blush slightly the way she's looking at me, it's also because I didn't expect her to show up here today, I then remember Jisoo's text message, ugh that brat, so she knew Lisa was here and all she said was not to wear scrubs and some good luck, what am I gonna do about her good luck when I'm already embarrassed here.

Lisa was still waiting for my reply, so I cleared my throat while giving her my gummy smile.

"I'm good, how about you? I think I should be the one asking that question in the first place," I said while looking at her exposed stomach to check her wound, but I think she gets the wrong idea because she smirks at me, so I look away and blushed again but harder this time.

"It's not what you're thinking, I was about to ask how's your wound," I said defensively and she just chuckled.

"I think it's already healed, I went into the clinic back in the quarters before going here and let them removed the bandage, they said it'll scar but it's manageable," she replied while looking at her not so visible scar on the side of her stomach.

"Good for you," I simply said, then there's a silence between us.

Not long enough I ask her the question I wanted to ask a while ago.

"What are you doing here Lisa?" I ask her, and I see her arching her brows.

"As much as I remember, I think you owe me a date Dr. Kim," she said to me, and my eyes widen, of course, I owe her one, I promised her last time that once she comes back she'll take me into a date.

Oh gosh, I forgot about it. I'm so busy these past few days because of my report.

"Oh, yes the date," I chuckled nervously while caressing my forehead.

"Is today not a good time? I'm sorry I should've called and asked you first before coming here, I'm just looking forward about this date that I didn't consider you being busy and the fact that you're a surgeon, I'm sorry about that," she rambles but I still find it cute.

"Oh don't apologize, It's okay, in fact I'm actually going to have some lunch just across the street," I said to her while pointing towards the restaurant from the other side.

"I see," she replied as she followed her gaze from where I'm pointing then she looks at me again and she continues, "Did you make some reservations there?" she asks.

"No I didn't, I'm planning to get some take-outs then I'm going to eat it at my office," I tell her honestly.

"Oh," she said shortly, I can see her contemplating before speaking again "I wanted to buy you a nice meal but if you're that busy I can come back another time," she said, I know she tried not to sound defeated but I think she failed to do so.

You know what, I think that report can wait, I can see that Lisa makes some efforts coming here even though it's a long drive. Also, I still owe her a date so why not. Screw the take-outs.

"You know what, just screw that, let's get into this date," I said to her, and seeing her smiled widely is just worth it.

"Really?!" she asks excitedly, she then realizes how she got excited so she looks down shyly and I just giggle at her, gosh can she stop acting cutely, it's making me blush.

"Now where we're heading to?" I ask her and I start walking towards her car.

"It's a restaurant called Mingles, my friends recommended it to me, I heard that they make a delicious meal there so I book it up," she said as she opens the door for me, I mouthed her a small thank you then she smiled and make her way towards the driver seat.

She settles on her seat and buckles her seat belt and I did the same, we're now driving our way to the said restaurant.

We're both silent during the ride, as we stop into a traffic light, I open some conversation.

"So, where have you been last time?" I ask while looking at her side profile, she then looked at me before answering.

"It's far from here," she said simply, when the light turns green she starts driving again. Hearing her answer makes me frown, I know she said that she'll explain everything once she comes back but her answer said otherwise, so I just shrug, I'll just wait until we get into the restaurant.
