Y/n POV
I was currently sitting on the dinner table looking back forth as Mike and Nick sat in front of each other. They had this weird tension between them or maybe it was just me who felt that way.
The entire day Nick has mostly been M.I.A with Maya while I was stuck with Mike showing him around and trying to talk him. But every time I try something comes up. Not to mention when he met my brother who literally had a whole conversation with him on how we met, and how he treats me. Just to make the whole situation better they became friends.
I was swirling my fork around in my spaghetti leaning my head on one of my hand. I totally wasn't in the mood to eat but just talk to Nick and clear things with Mike.
M: So who's baby is this
Mike asks as we all look at him. Great throwing more ignition into tension
N: Mine
Nick answers firmly glancing over Maya and smiling sweetly at her
M: Oh interesting, she's beautiful by the way
Mike nods, I just hope he doesn't ask where the baby momma is because that would just make everything even more awkward than it already is.
B: Y/n you not hungry
Brandon asks as I look up at him lightly smiling
Y/n: Nah, I'm just tried
I say as I was genuinely feeling down
Z: I thought you loved spaghetti
Zion asks as I nod putting my fork down and smiling
Y/n: I do it's just I have a lot on my mind
I confess glancing over at Nick who legit refuses to make eye contact with me, he's literally been ignoring me ever since Mike got here. And it's not like this is all new to him.
B: really like what
My brother questions confused
Y/n: Oh like school and my internship starting again
I answer as I see Nick looking down in his plate his eyes go wide probably thinking about how I will have to go back to New Jersey soon.
B: Oh yeah true, oh man we're gonna miss you so much
Brandon adds as I nod.
M: Yeah but at least we get to be together
I look over at Mike annoyed as he smiles lightly placing his hand on mine, Nick eyes immediately travel to it as he grips his fork. Edwin then gets off the chair taking his plate.
E: Y/n wanna help me in the kitchen
I quickly agree taking my plate and walking into the kitchen with him. As we get to kitchen Edwin looks at me and sighs
E: Can you be honest with me??
Edwin asks as I look down and back up nodding
Y/n: Yeah
E: Whats up, I know it's not because of school
I nod in agreement as I put the plates to the side
Y/n: It's actually about Nick
I confess honestly
E: I knew it
I glance at him confused
Y/n: Really??
E: Yeah I felt something last year but I didn't say anything then ever since you've been back its like Nick has changed I've never seen him this happy. I know after having the baby he was lonely and I'm gonna be honest I know he was thinking about you. I mean he was the one that suggested you come here to help out.
