Y/n POV
After leaving the preschool Nick was and I were driving with Maya in the back who was flipping through pages of her storybook. I was looking out the window not really knowing what to think or say. I mean I was upset I can't lie Maya is my daughter and no one could change that not even a teacher with foolish concerns.
I could tell Nick was worried he really cares about the people that are around him and he always wants them to be happy. I feel him put his hand on my thigh as I look over at him and he does the same lightly smiling and reassuring me he's by my side. I smile in return nodding lightly. That's when Maya spoke
M: Mommyyy.... Daddyy... can we have Mcdonaldosss
Maya asks as Nick looks at her through the the viewfinder
N: Of course baby girl
I smile as he drives to the nearest the McDonalds and parks the car. I walk out of the car and over to Maya helping her out as she grabs my hand. We walk in as Maya and I find a seat and Nick orders the food
M: Mommy you think I make friends??
She asks turning over towards me as I do the same. I smile fixing her hair as she puts her hand on mine. I really do love my baby girl
Y/n: Of course what makes you think they won't like you baby
I ask as she shrugs with little concerned brows
M: Ion know Momma I nervous
I pout my lips looking at her innocence
Y/n: You know one thing I learned while making friends..
M: What..
She says as I grab her soft cheek and she smiles
Y/n: It's to be yourself and trust me everyone will love you but remember you can always talk to Me or Daddy if you feel a certain way.
She smiles as I do the same. Maya then opens her arms hugging me tightly. I kiss her head looking at her. She always knew how to make me feel better and I'm glad I could help her.
M: I wuv you Momma
She grins happily
Y/n: I love you too baby girl
I answer I lightly brushing my hand over her's
N: What are my two favourite ladies talking about
Nick asks bringing the food as we look at him smiling
Y/n: Nothing just girl talk
I chuckle as he sits down and we start to eat
** A couple hours later**
I had just put Maya down for bed, I was standing by her doorframe watching her as she snuggled in. She's so precious and these past 2 years have been nothing but amazing with Nick and Maya. I never really thought about not being her biological mother I mean I still remember the first time she said Mommy, I legit cried. I can still remember the mother's and father' days we had and when I found out I was pregnant I was excited because Maya could have a little brother or sister.
I was in my thoughts as I feel arms wrap around my me. I could smell Nick as I smile lightly turning my head over to see him.
N: Hey
He mumbles into my ear kissing my cheek
Y/n: Hey
