- so you're afraid of demonic beasts, ghosts, all the sorts
- it's not like they're something you can't handle, but god did they unnerve you
- and byleth... completely understands
- he'd never seen anything supernatural like demonic beasts before either so he really didn't blame you when he felt the same way
- he just had a better way of dealing with it than you
- even before you two were a couple, you'd hide behind him
- you'd grip onto his cape and pray to the goddess that he'd be able to protect you from demonic beasts,
- i mean ghosts are another story
- back to beasts, you'd learn to use some offensive magic or the bow in order to help fight at a distance
- you'd rather not be in it's line of fire
- or even close to it for that matter
- when the beast was finally defeated and the army was walking to their next destination, you and byleth would lag behind and take up the back in order to not be seen as easily
- he'd wrap his arm around you in a side hug and press a kiss to the top of your head, a gesture that said "im proud of you"
- now ghosts
- you might be more afraid of ghosts than you are demonic beasts
- you'd know if a demonic beast was present, you didn't with a ghost
- before you shared a bed with byleth, you'd always have a lantern on at night because the dark was just really too much
- sometimes you'd go to his room just for a bit of comfort before shakily returning to your own room
- he'd kick you out because he knew you were stronger than your fears and didn't wanna coddle you
- but then as your relationship progressed byleth just kinda started to let you sleep with him every night
- hell, you were fighting bad guys all day long. the least he could do is give you some kind of solace at night and protect you from said ghosts
- your sleepless nights became less frequent because of him and so did the frantic beating of your heart every time you heard the word "demonic beast"
- all because you knew byleth was there to support you the whole time
