Cyan's POV
I manage to make it to Thursday before I come across an unavoidable situation with Luca. I had done a pretty good job of keeping my distance so far. On Sunday, after Luca and Ethan came over for churros I actually wasn't feeling very well. The previous day had tired me out more than I had realized. They had all left me to rest after finishing of the churros, which were surprisingly delicious. The day went by quickly and as Monday morning rolled around, I still felt under the weather and I decided to take it slow again. Lea came to visit me and brought dinner with her so we could discuss what we would be doing next week. As promised, she had taken the week off to spend it with me and we were both excited to spend a whole week out and about.
Tuesday and Wednesday I had actually taken the time to explore the surrounding area a little on my own. I'd found a nice hiking tour which was two days long and booked it. The tour guide was lovely and It had only been me and a group of three middle-aged travelers from Germany. Thankfully they all knew English so it hadn't been too awkward. The tour guide was actually an English man who had moved here twenty years ago and we had been surprised to find out he originally lived only two towns over from my home town.
Now Thursday had rolled around and I found myself on my way to my next surfing lesson. I had originally meant to change my instructor to Trent or Ethan but I'd stupidly forgotten to go through with it. Part of me hoped that Luca hadn't forgotten and had made sure to ask someone else to take over. However, if I were being honest with myself I would admit that I did want to see him again. No, not because I missed him or wanted to see him, I just wanted to thank him for being so considerate the other night.
Or at least that's what I would keep telling myself...
Each morning I had found myself going out for a walk, hoping to run into him. Even though I knew that it contradicted what I told Lea about avoiding him. When I had been booking my tour for the last couple of days I had even found myself hesitating because I knew that It would minimize my chances of talking to both Lea and Luca. However I was glad that I had booked it because it had given me time to think about my options. Stubbornly, I had realised Lea was right. Avoidance was tiring and I should just continue with what I had originally come here to do, which was have fun. I knew Lea would be happy to hear about my new-found realization but I hadn't actually gotten the chance to tell her yet. So I planned to visit her after my lesson to tell her and ask if she wanted to make plans for the weekend.
Now, as I approach the shack for my surf lesson, I realize that I might get a chance to tell her in person.
"Hey!" She looks excited, dashing out of the shack and meeting me half way for a hug, "I know it's been two days but I feel like we haven't done anything in AGES!"
"Me too!" I match her enthusiasm, "I actually really wanted to talk to you about something," My eyes immediately dart around to see if Luca is also there but he isn't. I try not to show my disappointment.
Huh, guess he really didn't want to be my instructor anymore...
"Ohhhh did you meet anyone on your two day solo adventure?" She rubs her hands together excitedly and I laugh, shaking my head rapidly.
"I wish. It was just me and a small group of German travelers." I shrug, "It was ok though. I got some great photos from it which I'll show you later. Australia really has some beautiful places." I sigh in content. "Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about our conversation the other day - about how I shouldn't avoid Luca - blablabla..." Lea's eyes widen, alarmed, as her eyes focus on something behind me.
