Between Two Fires

^.^ Chapter 5 ^.^

A couple of awkward seconds later - seconds in which I am sure I can feel his intense gaze on me - Ethan pipes up seemingly oblivious to the awkward situation between Luca and I. He claims he is hungry too and invites himself and Luca into coming up to the diner for dinner with us. Ethan and Lea walk in-front of us - talking animatedly. Meanwhile, Luca and I trail behind them quietly. 

I think back to last night and resist the urge to groan in embarrassment.  God, Luca must think I'm really strange after he caught me staring last night. I mentally kick myself for being such an idiot. Its probably why he hasn't taken his eyes off me. He probably thinks I'm some weird new girl and doesn't want his cousin hanging out around me. I attempt to break the silence and speak up - 

"H-hi," I start off nervously, my voice breaking. I take a deep breath and try again mustering up the courage to look up at him as we walk, "I-its nice to finally meet you. Lea has told me a lot about you.." I trail off hesitantly.

 I try to keep calm but my heart starts racing again when he looks down at me, surprising me with a small smile. It does nothing to calm my nerves and I notice a tiny dimples on his cheek as he smiles - be still my beating heart. As I said before good looking guys just seemed to come out of every corner here. 

Although Luca wasn't like Josh, with his big muscles and eight pack or  like Ethan with his wide muscular body, he was still incredibly good looking. I give him a once over, waiting for him to answer. Don't get me wrong, he definitely works out. I have no doubt about that. And I wouldn't be surprised if he had a very defined abdomen under that white button-down shirt he was wearing. Definitely a six pack. His arms and legs also showed the clear definition of muscles which were worked on every day.

The worst thing, I thought to myself, Is that he doesn't  need any of that. His eyes were enough to have you looking his way and his dimpled smile would definitely be enough to keep you staring. Or at least they kept me staring. I force myself to pay attention when speaks.

"Hi.. " He clears his throat, "I've heard a lot about you too. Not just from Lea though..."He raises his eyebrows expectantly and I tilt my head in confusion. He laughs at my obliviousness, his voice is deep and has a unique accent to it. Before he can explain what he was talking about - we arrive at the Diner and are interrupted by Lea. 

"Cyan. Remember, we have to go do that thing before sitting for dinner? So, the boys are going to get a table and we will join them in a second." Before I can answer she is already making her way through the crowd. I follow her towards the stage and into a room right by it. There are instruments everywhere and Jack, the man from the night before, is already in the room.

"'Hi, Uncle!" Lea gives jumps on his broad back and gives him a hug, "Is everything ready for tonight?" 

"Cyan! Lea! Thank you both for helping me out." He turns to us, the cables he was sorting through were woven around his hands, "Yes, everything is ready, the music is ready for your two first songs and I have someone who will play the guitar for you for the last song." He points towards a blue acoustic guitar to his left.

I smile nervously and nod, "Yes, thank you for the opportunity.  Are you really sure I'm the right person for the job?"  I intertwine my hands to keep myself from fiddling and showing just how nervous I am.

He waves me off, his hands flailing about. "Nonsense! You were great out there last night. You also seem to know your way well around the equipment so you must have done this before!" 

I shake my head, "I really haven't. I was only in a small competition once. But thank you for your kind words. I promise you I'll try my best not to sound horrible out there." I laugh and shrug my shoulders.
