Cyan's POV
Falling on my back, I cuddle up to the sheets of my bed. My body relaxes into the warm cocoon, appreciating its warmth and comfort. After the hectic night, sleep was creeping in making itself known and I close my eyes willing it to take me into its grasp.
Following the performance, I basically ran off the stage. Jack had stopped me to thank me for the performance and I'd promised to come see him the next night to talk about payment. I had tried to refuse but he was having none of it. After the short conversation with Jack I had weaved my way through the crowd and onto the beach. I wasn't too sure but I thought I heard someone calling my name so I quickened my pace on the way home. I wasn't really in the mood to go back to the party so avoiding Lea had seemed like the best option.
My phone! Startled, I sit up on my bed and feel for it in my pockets. When I find nothing, I look in my small bag which I had taken with me but it's not in there either. I fall back onto the mattress with a groan.
I really didn't want to go back to the party to get my phone. If I were being honest with myself, I would probably admit it was because I wasn't ready to see Luca again. Even though I barely knew him, singing had felt so easy with him there, that I had even forgotten the massive crowd right in front of me. It scared me and I knew that it would be best to stay away from him. Especially considering he didn't seem nearly as affected as I was by his presence. And the fact that I couldn't allow myself to fall for someone and get hurt again. Especially not someone this far away from home.
Whilst I was talking with Jack after the performance, I had looked back to make sure Lea wasn't following me and spotted Luca instead. He was talking to a girl, around my age or maybe a year or two older. She had short blonde hair that reached her shoulders and her skinny body was clad in a top which looked small enough to be a bikini top and shorts which left little to the imagination.
Figures. He is that type. It's a pity.
Swinging my body up off the bed, I get up. It'll be easier to get my phone now. If I left it till the morning it might get taken or lost.
I'm putting my sandals on when I hear a knock on my front door. I tense up and look towards it. I look at my watch and realize its one in the morning.
Who would be knocking at my door this late? I approach it slowly.
"Who is it?" I ask, keeping my voice from sounding shaky. I'm met with no answer but I hear the sound of someone going down the stairs on my front porch. I bite my lip, my hands are sweating and a shiver runs down my spine. I had always been scared of the dark so this situation was one of my worst nightmares. Especially considering I had no phone.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!...
Taking a deep breath, I decide to do what those stupid people in all movies do. I grab the cold metal handle of the door and slowly turn it, opening the door just enough to see whether or not there is anyone standing in front of my door. When I see no one I open it a little more and, to my surprise, find my phone placed a couple of centimeters away from my door.
Cyan, this could be bait to lure you out.... I roll my eyes at my own paranoia and muster up all the courage I have. Stepping out, I grab the phone quickly and hurriedly get back into the house, slamming and locking the door behind me. I lean against it and breathe a huge sigh of relief.
I walk back to my room and get changed into my nightie. Turning the air-conditioning on, I cuddle into the sheets getting myself under the thick quilt.
I wonder who brought my phone to me? It must have been Lea, she is the only one that knows where I am staying... I unlock my phone and check for any notifications. I have 3 missed calls from Lea and 7 angry messages;
