I got a text from Riley saying she and Lucas broke up. So I came as fast as I could to hear the details.
"What! you..."
"Yes."
"RILEY!"
"Shhh! Keep it down."
"Riley! Were in 7th grade!" I said, but whispering this time.
"Well what now?"
"Umm..." I had to think if what to say to keep her away from Lucas.
"You should never speak to him again."
"Okay."
I could see she really missed him.
"Well, why are you so sad over this? He was being a jerk"
"Ya. But he meant it as a thoughtful 'gift' not disrespect."
