11 🍒 utter amazement

I'm holding Peter in my arms for quite sometime now. Naabutan ko siyang walang malay at tila pagod na pagod. Sadness registers in my face. If I made it on time, it wouldn't be like this.

Habang tinitingnan ko ang maamo niyang mukha, sinubukan ko na makita ang mga mata niya without it burning in red color. I don't think he would allow me to appreciate the beauty of his eyes. He doesn't want to.

"Peter? Gumising ka na. Nandito lang ako sa tabi mo. Hindi kita iiwan. I thought creatures like you do not sleep at all, so please,  whatever state you are in, bumalik ka na sa akin. Please," I heard a soft moan escaped from his mouth. He responded. He has heard me.

Pinakiramdaman ko ang sarili ko. Miraculously, all the pain that I thought I'm feeling is now gone.

"Hey? Thank you for making the aches disappear. I know it's you. You did it," halos dumikit na ang mga labi ko sa tenga niya.

I wanted to scream into his ears to let him know that I didn't leave him yet something's keeping me from doing that. Maybe I was afraid of something more painful than death, it's rejection.

Inihiga ko si Peter sa kandungan ko and held his hand. Minasahe ko ito at ipinadama ang mainit kong palad sa palad niya.

"Peter? Please speak. Kahit na halos mamatay na ako sa nerbiyos kanina sa mga pinagagagawa mo hindi pa rin kita magawang iwanan dito. Alam mo bang ngayon lang ako nalagay sa ganitong sitwasyon? I've never had any of these before, then you came," idinikit ko ang labi ko sa tenga niya at huminga ng malalim. I can't contain what I feel for him.

"Nothing's ever been normal since the moment I met you. I think I'm falling for you. Sabi mo hindi ka ordinaryong nilalang and I believe you, pero hindi pa rin kayang pigilan ng pagiging kakaiba mo ang nararamdaman ko para sayo," bulong ko sa kaniya.

"He can't hear you. He is totally psyched out from us," nagulat na lang ako ng biglang may nagsalita sa gilid ko.

I froze when I saw that it was a woman who spoke. It wasn't just a woman. It was a beautiful woman.

"I'm Arabelle, Peter's sister," mula sa pagkakasandal niya sa wooden desk ay hindi ko maiwasang mapanganga sa taglay niyang ganda.

She is utterly beautiful. Meztisa at makinis ang kanyang balat. Unlike Peter, she is not wearing any coverings on her eyes.

"Ella," mahina kong bulong.

"Ella? So, ikaw pala ang gumagawa ng ingay lately sa Vampire's Society. I don't know what kind of special ability that you have and you have made my brother like you. You seem pretty much normal to me," sa pagkakabigkas niya ng huli niyang tinuran ay gusto kong mainsulto.

"Gumagawa ng ingay? Ano namang ibig mong palabasin sa sinabi mong iyon? Vampire's Society? Ano iyon? Sorry, naguguluhan na kasi ako," sunod-sunod kong tanong sa kanya.

She is wearing a bright yellow skimpy skirt at manipis na white blouse na mas bumagay sa kutis niyang parang gatas.

Kung itatapat ako sa kanya, malamang magmumukha talaga akong ordinaryo. Iniiwas ko ang paningin ko.

"Hey wait. You don't have to hide your eyes from me. Your soul is quite safe because I do not infiltrate minds. I don't have that power. I'm just an ordinary vampire. I usually do not drink human blood unless---" napakunot ang noo ko sa narinig ko sa kanya.

"Unless that blood belongs to a filthy soul. Honestly, I'm really thirsty right now," napalunok ako sa narinig ko buhat sa kanya. Napansin kong napatingin siya sa bandang leeg ko.
