False hope

You believe that it's gonna be okay,

And for the second you feel great.

Sometimes that's actually the case.

But other times,

Just too......... get them off you're case,

Just to save yourself from their disappointment,

Which always just seems to kill you

You smile.

"Why do you always have to look like you're dying?" they ask.

You shrug. "I guess going through a lot." you answer.

"All the time?" they reply and embarrassment falls upon you,

It's true; I always have that look on my face,

Maybe I need to be more care-free.

I can try.

I'll do it!

You slap a smile on your face and for a week you're totally okay!

But then when you leave the crowded environments,

Your mind is bombarded with thoughts,

Reminding of who you really are

What you really wanted.

Who you wanted to be.

And you step out of....... life,

And go into this unresponsive state.

You're deep in thought,

Too deep in your own mind,

And in realization,

You whisper.

"It was all a lie"

You realize you lied to yourself

It was all just,

False hope
