Quinton tried to hurry and slam the door in his face but Berkeley put his foot between the door. He pushed the door open before walking inside.

"Caesar go to you room," I ordered before he got up from the table and walked back to his room.

"You named him after the other one... how cute," Berkeley said before sitting down at the table. "Care to sit down with me?"

"The fuck do you want?!" Quinton yelled.

"Now let's keep it civil, Quinton. You don't want to make me upset. Let's have a conversation, there's a few things we need to discuss," Berkeley said before we sat down.

"About what?" I asked.

"You don't need to fear me anymore, Amara. I was hoping the three of us could be business partners actually," he replied.

"Business partners like how you and my dad were partners?" Quinton asked.

"James and I weren't partners. We barely worked together. He was disposable. After he stopped holding his end of the deal it was time for him to be disposed. You all really just got caught in the crossfire," he said.

"Why would you even want to work with us?" Quinton asked before Berkeley looked around our apartment.

"Look at your house, I'm trying to be nice," he said. "I mean that's the least I can do after you had to lose your brother and you showed loyalty to me-"

"How?" I asked confused.

"You could've ran to the police but you didn't," he replied. "I respect that. So here's the deal, I'm getting old. I don't have kids, a wife, family... after watching you for the past five or so years I feel I know you. And I know you're smart and could handle something like this."

"Something like what?" Quinton asked.

"My mafia," he replied.

"No, hell no, fuck no. I'm not raising my kids in a fuckin' mafia," I said.

"Getting your kids involved is your decision, that has no relevance to me. I've already made the plan all you have to do is fall in line. If everything goes smoothly, you live in riches and you continue on with your life freely. No more hiding," he said before Quinton looked at me.

"You can't seriously be considering this," I said looking at him.

"So what exactly happens?" Quinton asked Berkeley while I looked at him like I didn't even know who he was.

"You turn me in, you come out of hiding. I have a house I was going to sell because I got a new one but looking at how you're living... you can have it. It's plenty of room for the whole family and some-"

"Why do you want us to turn you in?" He asked.

"Let me finish. You'll break me out. You have a maximum of a year and a half to make the plan and go through with it. If you can pull this off it proves your loyalty to me. When I get out we continue our partnership," Berkeley replied.

"And what live happily ever after?" I scoffed.

"If those are the choice of words you choose to use..." Berkeley said. "You have a week to make up your mind and get back to me," Berkeley said before standing up and walking out of the house.

Andre and I hopped out of Amara's car before we looked at her house.
