Chapter 35

"I know it won't be easy as my father grandfather and forefathers make it look. Running multiple billion dollar businesses across the globe, and taking charge of over thousand employee's. Mejoniel Enterprises, hotels, constructions, real estate,resorts and etc have grown form grass to grace from decades and even centuries till this point and in a few months, I'll be taking over from my father like he did his.......and hopefully I'd do better;" I said looking at my dad giving him a big grin and of course he was laughing with the crowd!. "So without dragging this speech any longer, I can't wait to work with all who have done few or many transactions with this company ,I hope to learn, understand and take Mejoniel Enterprises and Co far beyond whatever anyone has anticipated....thank you and enjoy the party;" I finished and was given a standing ovation.
     
     "That was great";my mother said smiling at me with tears in her eyes.

   "Alvin, you have truly turned out like your father. Strong, loyal, hard-working loving and so much more. I know this won't be easy, but don't worry, it's not supposed to be she said with a smile".

"Your father, I, your sisters and friends are here for you okay;" was what she  said looking straight into my eyes. Damn, if I was a female, I'd be her twin( I know it's a wrong time to think about this, but I'm not even joking about this right now) I thought to myself.

"Mom, don't cry. I'm growing up but I'm still a baby, well your baby and that isn't changing anytime soon I said giving her my word.

Trust me, no matter what happens, I'm going to be there for you,Eyram and Dad of course!!  She gave me a disturbed look when I didn't include Petra.
      Alvin I........ Mom was cut off when Eyram came up to me smiling so foolishly  I was even tempted to take a picture and post it on my Instagram page but  it was  too late.
 
    "You did great" Eyram said; and you looked sexy, you should have seen how all the girls were drooling over you!! well except for Petra ,Hannah and I.
  "what I'm trying to say is,we are too good for you, and to be honest, it was just disgusting and annoying seeing so many girls gawk over one guy!!! siissshhhhhhh I'm glad that's over with, anybody else agreeing on this with me she said raising up her hands literally waiting for someone to agree with her....
Then when no one said anything, she  called out to Daniel "Danny"? she said looking in Daniels' direction which was unexpected cause honestly,I forgot the guy  even existed!
  
      Twenty minutes after meeting some of dads business partners and potential business associate, I got to run away when the bigger men were talking about other serious business deals he wasn't ready to expose me to yet!!.
  I was grateful for still being nineteen and not completely sucked up into being the heir of Mejoniel Enterprises just yet, I could already feel the weight on my shoulders. Dad and grandpa have really taken alot in fact a tone of bullshit for this empire and I'm going to have to make it bigger and better after all, the is a saying that Chance favors the prepared mind.
  
Dude you killed it...... Charles yelled whiles walking up to me in the crowded room distracting me from these thoughts I've been having constantly since... well since I knew I had a company I would have to run one-day ... before giving me a hug( yes apart from my family and Charles,I don't give others hugs) .....
    "I know this was expected and all but honestly, I'm not ready to start acting all grown up bro"; Charles explained looking some what confused ( and trust me, this guy is so calculated about every decision he makes and executes, so deep down  I was kinda scared too about this recent revelation.)
 
"What are you talking about?
Dude, you've been acting grown up since you were ten,you even made grown ups doubt if they were actually grown ups by just talking and defending your theories, so don't worry bro we got this I said returning the hug.(to be honest it took alot from me to act completely chill, but the thing is when one of us is in doubt and in fear,the other has to be strong for both of us and trust me, Charles always does this, you know being there for me and all  so today was his turn to feel weak without judgement)
  
   "Congratulations Alvin, I can't even imagine the kind of responsibility dad and grandpa have placed on you but I know you'll do just fine";Petra said with a slight smile.
     
       In my head, all I wanted to say was "fuck off"....... But in the end, "thank you" was all I said before walking away.

If I've learnt anything from my parents, it's not letting ones emotions make them make decisions based on their current feelings... well I'm grateful for that because nothing would have stopped me from giving her a tone of bullshit in that speech I was supposed to give her...she deserved it, and I wasn't going to make it any  easy for her either....so cheers to what's to come for Petra, I thought smiling to myself before walking out of the room to get some air but by all means, Petra will  feel my wrath with the most Alvincrafted punishment.
