Old Flames

Chapter 19

   Everything hurts, there's to much light coming in from the windows, I feel sick and my mouth tastes like crap.
  
       I tried to sit up and fuck that hurt alot. A girl stands up from beside my bed and starts yelling for no reason in particular and runs out of the room only to come back a few minutes later with other unknown people..

First of all I'm confused cause I dont think I know any of these people,and secondly they are acting like I'm some lost but found teddy bear or something .
    
    An older  but pretty lady probably in her 30s or so tries to touch me but of course I react and pull away WHY? Because I dont freaken know her..!!!
  
A guy in a lab coat probably the doctor I figured since I have an oxygen tube stuck to my face smiles at me and turns to the people who are probably in the wrong room or something and later had  all of them out of the room in a minute....
  
    I tried moving a bit and trust me that was the worst mistake I could ever make , my waist felt like it was re- arranged and I couldn't stop the pain in any way so the only thing I could do was scream yep scream,

and right there the doctor came in with nurses who held me in position so he could inject something into me which wasnt as painful as the pain i felt in my side.... And after I felt drowsy and numb.

Slowly every thing was turning dark and my eyes felt to heavy to keep them open so I just gave up and drifted into sleep..

MOM'S P.O.V

Doctor how's my daughter?
Why was she yelling?
is she okey?
   
   I ask with tears all over my face.
We got back from Sydney this morning and I saw my daughter laying in a hospital bed with all those tubes attached to her.

Alvin and his father were broken and times like this I cut them some slack.... Edwin loves his daughter too much I know how  he feels right now ... and Alvin never let's even a needle touch his sister... This drama was just to much for the both of them!!!
 
"She just felt the excruciating pain in her waist which she didn't know she had so she was just reacting to the pain Mrs. Davis"; the doctor said. 

But please don't  worry we just gave her a sedative so for a while she would be sleeping.

Doctor she didn't remember me or anyone why? I asked with so much fear form hearing the reply to my question.

I'm sorry Mrs. Davis but Eyram your daughter  has been diagnosed with amnesia he answered.

I couldn't think or move or do anything and it seemed Alvin and his father already knew about it...
        
     Doctor, wait is it reverseable? I mean it is temporary? Is she going to get her memories back I said confused with all the questions that were popping into my head at the same time.
 
I just wanted to dig a hole and crawl right into it. I couldn't bare to live in the same house with my own daughter who isn't even sure about her identity..

 (A Week later........). 
It's been a week, and Eyram seems to be okay I say to the doctor.
      
    "The pain has subsided yes, but she still hasn't fully recovered yet form the amnesia Mrs. Davis" the Doctor responds
  
  Doctor my daughter has a life to get back to school, friends her family!! She can't stay like this forever?Ermm what would you have us do?
    
     "Well I suppose you could either take her home with you or take her to the  hospital's facility where they handle these sorts of cases  so they can help her!!!" Said the Doctor .
   
Then its settled she's coming home with us say's Edwin  who wouldnt leave his daughter just anywhere!!
  
     Doctor when can we take her home? Edwin asked!!!
Tomorrow is a Saturday and your son would be here more  so let's make it tomorrow how about that?

        "Ermmm doctor what does my son being here have to do with my daughter being discharged form the hospital"; I asked.

   During all the test and even in her sleep she always reacted positivly to her brothers attempts at helping her and since shes probably oblivious to everything going on around  her,it would be best if she had a familiar face around so I think tomorrow would be perfect!!
    
you just have to fill in a few forms and you can take her home!! But I would ask you not to force moments on her because hopefully being with the people she used to know should trigger memories and also make sure she takes her medication on time!!!.
   
  Well I have to get back to other duties he said shaking Edwin's hand and smiling at me before he turned to leave..
