A month passed with total boredom and no run.

Yes, we got daily amount of sun and exercise, both are in the form of us fighting against others. But it wasn't enough.

Now, they all hit hard, but none of them actually had been in a real street fight... Or any fight for that matter. Which kind of left them weak against us as we all knew how to fight and think on our feet. This also meant that we weren't really getting any exercise. Not the kind we wanted.

Though, within that month, Rowan had made it very clear she rather liked Viper. You could tell cause anytime the Latino was out in the field, she was the only one to spare against the venomous bitch. And Rowan was a challenge, she knew how to actually give a fight.

I also had spent some more time with Ashton... No idea why, he was the one who kind of enforced it.

We often had lunch in his office, which always lead us talking about my Father... The bastard that hurt me... He was trying to get me to press charges against the man for child abuse, but... I knew none of it would stick, not with my record.

I huffed as I laid on my large bed, bored out of my mind.

Lessons were canceled today since the teachers needed to talk with each other and there was no training as Ashton needed to talk with those instructors.

This basically left me bored and with nothing to do.

"JJ!" A whiny voice came from the door, quickly followed by a body falling onto my bed. "I'm bored." It continued.

I scoffed, looking over at Vipes.

"Why not have fun with Rowan?" I lightly grumbled.

She huffed, turning to lay on her side to me.

"Because I don't want to play that game with her." She mumbled, looking a bit down.

A chuckle left me, a  smile forming on my lips.

"You like her don't you." A gentle nod was my answer. "You and tough women."

She shrugged. She really couldn't say anything as she does tend to go to independent women for girlfriends.

We laid there in silence, both wanting to do something, but having nothing in mind. Which honestly sucked. Then we heard a gentle tap, tap on my wooden door.

Both of us looked to it, Steel was standing there.

He made a motion with his hands that honestly wasn't any form of sign language.

Even still, we understood him, his words making us smile. Apparently, almost everyone in and out of the house was gone. Don't know where they've gone to, but this meant we could run and not have to worry about being chased!

We basically bolted outside, Ace already waiting for us on the porch with a wide smile on his face.

It didn't take us long to get deep into the forest, the few people that were outside not even standing a chance of catching us!

We ran and ran, sometimes jumping high up into the trees, or purposely setting off traps just to avoid them last minute!

We finally were letting out the energy we wanted out!

After a few hours of th running around, we headed to a place Mom showed us. A secluded area in the forest that was basically surrounded by very old bear traps.

Most of these traps were already set off and removed, but there were still a plenty left for us needing to be careful.

Panting, I sat down on the dirt, quietly smiling.

"Damn..." Ace gave a rough chuckle, his cheeks lightly pink from the sun. "That was the best run we had yet!"

This caused us to laugh happily, our smiles widening.

We settled down for a few minutes, taking deep breaths to get our breathing under control.

"Tell us Mom's stories." Steel suddenly whispered.

All of us looked to him, our smiles softening. This was one of the few moments that Steel actually spoke, moments we always cherished.

"Alright." I muttered, smiling at him. "I'll tell you of your favorite. The one of the wolf and snow leopard."

This got his grey eyes to soften to a more cool color.

I then told the story my mother always told him when he was feeling down. It honestly was a sweet story, kind of like Romeo and Juliet, but without the secret wanting of them to die. The two didn't instantly fall in love, but their love grew over time and small daring acts of affection and kindness... It was sad to say, they did die, but not before they were able to get their baby far away from them.

We honestly don't know how a wolf and a snow leopard were able to do that. Mom probably just wanted to give us something to be happy with and truth be told, we still liked the story.

After that one, I told the one about a vampire and werewolf partnering up to stop an out of control hunter. A hunter that had broken his code on hunting mystical beings. The two didn't fall in love, but they did become family in a way...

Honestly, all the stories Mom told us had something to do with supernatural beings and most times they had a good ending. The ones that didn't, usually had a twist however.

By the time I was done retelling all the old stories, it was getting late... And by late, I mean the moon was out and high in the sky.

Sighing, we all stood up, ready to head back to the Manor... But we felt calmer, more at peace now...

Running and Mother's stories...  They were always a good combination.
