Damn it, he's good.

"Touché," I sank back in my chair, raising my hands next to my face, and bowed my head slightly. "I admit defeat, sir."

He looked satisfied. "Thought so. The reason you marched in here like a whole SWAT team?"

"It's about that same subject actually," I readjusted myself in my chair, giving a nervous cough. "To apologize about yesterday. I am so sorry Bossman. I had a little... incident and because of that I was in no state to work. I am terribly sorry that I caused you inconvenience. I'm okay with working overtime next month-"

He lifted his forefinger, signaling me to stop talking.

"It's already been taken care of, Di. Don't worry about it."

My eyes boggled as I gaped at him, my mouth opening and closing like a goldfish.

"Taken care of?" I asked, dumbfounded.

"Yes. Mr. Park Jimin called me this morning to explain everything. He even offered to cover my financial expenses over losing an employe for the day, but I refused him. Quinn covered all the tables by herself so there was no harm done. If that is all, you may go home and rest now. You have the day off."

A small silence fell between us as I stared at him blankly, my eyebrows raising so high they practically merged with my hairline. He must have noticed my stunned expression because he furrowed his brows in concern.

"Di?"

I looked at him in confusion, "Okay, but let me at least return the money you gave me for-"

"No need. You can keep them."

My brows pulled together as I offered him an incredulous look. "This feels skeevy, Bossman."

He poised himself properly on his chair and interlocked his fingers in his lap.

"Consider me in a generous mood today." he flashed me a beautiful smile.

A small hmphf escaping me, I stood up slowly and collected my purse from my chair, not removing my suspicious stare from Rain as if he had a gun pointed at me. I started taking small steps towards the door, expecting him to tell me to return any second now, but he did no such thing.

"Okay, but-" I spun on my heel and started speaking again.

"Di, I am trying to work." He looked from me to the door.

"Yeah, I saw." I scoffed in a rather snobby manner. He shifted his gaze away from me, dismissing me silently.

Just as I was about to march to the door, a soft shimmer from Rain's desk caught my attention. With a small frown, I strode towards it, rapidly grabbing the small sparkling object, and brought it closer to my face to further inspect it.

A heavy sigh erupted through me as my astonished gaze cast on a very pale Rain.

"Is that Quinn's earring?" I inquired suspiciously.

"Wha- what?" he said with a flustered expression.

I narrowed my eyes at him defiantly. "You heard me. This is Quinn's earring, isn't it?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Rain mumbled, writing something down in a leather notebook.

I felt as if my head was going to burst as the widest grin spread on my mouth. I glanced towards the bathroom door Rain's mysterious lover had disappeared behind, and then back at my boss who was now sweating more profusely than a marathon runner.

I lifted a brow, putting the earring back down. Then I gave him the dirtiest glare I could, pointing at my eyes and then back at him.

"I've got my eyes on both of you," I said in a low threatening voice as I exited his office.
