(21) Waking Up To Beeping And Yelling

Start from the beginning

I shrug and sigh. "I'm not going to stop you if you want to stay with me. To be honest, I would like you to come over and help me clean up the mess I made. If it's okay with you? Then after we can watch Black Panther and Girl's Trip."

She smiles and nods her head yes. "I would love to do that. While I'm over I can make your grandmother's favorite Seafood Platter."

My stomach growls right on cue and we both burst out laughing. The laughing ends up getting cut short when we hear a knock on the door. The doctor peaks her head in and sighs.

"There's a Addison here who wants to talk to you. Would you like me to send him in?" Before I can answer, my mom screams out her response.

"YEAH BRING THAT BOY IN HERE! WE NEED TO TALK!" She screams.

The doctor rushes out of the room frightened and I grip my hold on my mom's hand tighter. Then he walks in. Well this should be interesting.

~ Addison POV ~

I sit down in the chair and wait for the nurse to come back in and let me know that I can go in. I already heard her mother and I knew I was going to be in for hell.

The nurse comes back and she looks scared. "She said that you may go in. It's room A-19. Good luck." She says before walking back to her desk.

I thank her and walk to her room. Here I am; standing in front of the door. I take a deep breath before slowly opening the door. There's my baby laying in the bed asleep with her mom holding her. Sophia looks up at me and anger fills her face.

"What makes you think she wants to you? Isn't she just some nigger to you? Why would you care for her?" She says with tears running down her face.

I sigh and sit down on the other side of the bed. I put my head down and huff out nervously. "I never meant to hurt your daughter..." I get cut off from her scoff.

"Do you know how many times I've heard that line? The boys I dated in high school would use that line when they know they screwed up and got caught. But at the end of the day, they end up doing it again. What makes you any different?" She says with anger laced in her voice.

"I'm different because I'm here trying to make things right. I know she's going to hate me for the rest of my life. I do deserve to say my opinion too. I just wanted to say one last thing before I leave. I'm moving to Russia to continue my gang. I'm not coming back either." I say.

Kayla slowly opens her eyes and looks at her mom before following her eyes to look at me. Tears start forming in her eyes and she instantly looks away and back at her mother.

~ Kayla POV ~

I look at my mother and give her the help me look and she sighs. "He wants to talk so I'll leave you two alone." I grab her arm before she leaves and shake my head no.

She pecks my head and whispers in my hair. "I'll be right outside that door so if I need to beat some little boy's ass, I'll be ready with my belt."

With that, she gave Addison the dirtiest look and walked out. I sighed and looked down at my hands to avoid Addison's eyes. He sighs and starts speaking.

"Kayla, I am so sorry for those cruel things I've said to you. No person deserves what you've been through. I was wrong in so many ways for what I've did. I just want you to know that I don't care about your skin color. You're beautiful, smart, brave, confident, and above all badass. The words that I said in the restaurant were wrong and false. I am moving to Russia for good. I'm going to continue my gang and move as far away from you so you don't get hurt. I just wanted to say this one more time before I leave. I love you and I always will." He says while holding my hand.

I start crying and my hands shake a little bit. I finally look into his eyes and sadness and regret fills them. I pull him closer and hug him. I need to do this before he leaves. We both need to move on and live our lives away from each other.

~ Addison POV ~

She pulls me into a hug and I freeze for a second. I finally wrap my arms around her and I hug her back. She starts to sob into my chest and I feel even worse.

I pull away after a while and looks down at her. She looks up at me and lightly smiles. "Thank you for coming." She softly speaks with a stuffed nose.

I smile and peck her forehead. "I will always be there for you. Whatever you need, I got you." And that's the truth. She smiles and scoots over before patting the empty spot. "Come lay with me one more time. Please?" She says.

I lay down next to her in the bed and she holds me while I hold her. She smiles while putting her head on my shoulder. I rub her back and keep her warm. "Thank you Addison." She whispers.

I peck her cheek and I pull her even closer and bring the blanket over us. "Always and forever Kayla, always and forever." With that, we both fall asleep.
