(13) Finding Out Who "They" Are

~ Addison POV ~

After Kayla left, I got pissed off. Pissed off that I seem to always makes things worse than it already is. Pissed that I can't even seem to keep the girls I love. Pissed that I can't even help my friend when he needs me the most.

I walk outside to see Jared on the ground holding himself. "She punched and kicked you didn't she?" I ask already knowing the answer.

He looks up at me and gives me a 'what does it look like' look. "Obviously now can you please help me up and get me some ice?" He asks.
I sigh before helping him up and carrying him inside.

I place him down gently on the couch and go into the kitchen and grab a bag of frozen peas from the freezer and a beer for the both of us. I hand it to him and sit down across from him. We sit in complete silence before he decides to break it.

"I'm pretty sure Kayla is going over Crystal's house to tell her everything. Gosh, I'm such a bad boyfriend. Here I thought I wouldn't screw things up, but boy I was wrong. The worst part is I don't even know what I should do."

I sigh and sit up more. "Man, I don't even know what to do anymore. I literally just got her trust back and I lied to her. Then I didn't even tell her that she was in danger. Now how does that sound to you?"

The room gets silent again and I'm in deep thoughts. Should I text her? She told me not to, but I need to make sure she's ok. I was getting ready to pick up my phone when her face pops up on my screen. She's actually calling me.

I pick up the phone.

"Baby, are you ok?" I ask. Then I hear his laugh and I loose it.

"Where is she?! What did you do?!" I scream into the phone and put it on speaker so Jared can hear.

"Oh is that how you talk to family? Well I guess my sister didn't raise you right. That's no way to talk to your uncle. Besides, that's not why I called. You already know what I want."

"YOU'RE FUCKING DELUSIONAL! YOU 'RE NOT GETTING MY GANG SO JUST GIVE UP ALREADY!" I scream into the phone. He laughs and then it gets silent. I hear little movements then I hear tears. My baby's tears.

"Addison?" Her voice was so hoarse and dry at first I didn't recognize it.

"Baby, are you ok? Did he hurt you?" I ask quickly.

Then I hear her break down. "He shot my dad and he has all of us hostage."

"Who baby? Who else is with you?" I ask softly. She hiccups and sneezes. It's a thing she doesn't when she is crying really hard.

"My mom, Crystal, my dad and I are all here. Please get us out of here. Please." She cries into the phone.

"Baby listen to me, I need you to stay strong for me ok? I'm coming to get you baby, I promise. No one is going to die anytime soon."

Jared was pissed at this point because his baby was in danger and so was the love of his life. I hear my uncle's horrible voice next.

"Oh Addison, didn't my sister always tell you not to make promises you can't keep? I do have to say you have good taste in woman. I might even have some fun with her before I torture her by making her watch me kill everyone. How does that sound huh?"

I am beyond pissed.

"LISTEN HERE YOU OLD FUCK, YOU WILL NOT TOUCH HER! IF I FIND OUT THAT YOU TOUCHED HER IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM I'LL MAKE SURE THAT YOU SUFFER A HORRIBLE DEATH! GOT THAT!?" I scream into the phone.

He laughs and then I hear gunshots.

~ Kayla POV ~
I run to my dad and I drop down next to him. My mom does the same thing and kneels on the other side of him.
