~ Kayla POV ~
Today, I have to go to work. Ugh, this is not how I expected work to be like. I take a shower and do the other things I always did since high school. I decided since it's a little warmer but still cold to wear a long sleeve shirt and some jeans. It took forever to find boots with this look, so I just put random black ones on.
I decide to walk to work today, since my job is only a 5 minute walk from my house. Plus I need the air. As I'm walking, I hear guys whistle at me and I ignore it. Guys are fucking perverts sometimes.
I walk in and my boss smiles at me. I walk up to him and hug him which he gladly hugs me back. He pulls away and sighs.
"Kayla, I got some bad news." He says concerned.
"What is it?"
He then smiles and grins like a mad man. "I am here to personally sent you into the conference room to have a private talk with him. Apparently he needs to get something off of his chest."
Ugh why? I don't want to remember what happened. I groan and throw my hands up.
"Why is he trying to make my life hell? I didn't do anything to him. But fine I'll go. Can you put these on my desk?" I ask my fav boss.
He smiles and takes my stuff before turning around and putting my stuff away. I walk into the conference room and there he is. Sipping coffee and scrolling through his phone.
He looks up at me and smiles. "You came."
I groan and lock the door so no one walks in. Even though nothing is going to happen, I don't want people trying to walk in.
I sit down in front of him and cross my arms. "What did you want to talk about? I have work to do."
He sighs and puts down his phone. "I'm sorry. For everything I've done to you. I'm realizing that nothing I've been doing has made things better just worse. So I came in here to tell you that I'm done trying to chase you. I realize that you don't want to be chased anymore so I'll stop. And when it comes to work, we'll just act like business partners."
Oh damn he's giving up? Thank fucking god! I sigh and I cross my arms. "I appreciate that. We could just start over as friends. Thank you and your kind of forgiven." I say.
His eyebrow raises up in confusion. "What do I have to do to make it 100% forgiven?"
I smirk and make it look like I'm thinking. "Well you could take me out to dinner tonight."
He smiles and laughs. "Would you care if I picked you up?"
I shake my head no and smile. "That would be great. What time should we go?"
He grins and shrugs. "Well I mean I'm hungry now and it's close to around the time I would eat dinner."
I raise an eyebrow and smirk at him. "Oh really now? What makes you think my boss would let you just take me?" I ask with a hint of cockiness.
~ Addison POV ~
I am actually getting her to like me again. Shit, I guess I don't need to ask for Jared's advice anymore. Wait, I'm saying that way too soon.
"Well I do own this whole business deal so if he does, I would have no choice but to get you a new boss."
She gasps and slaps my arm causing me to laugh.
"Don't do that to the poor man! He is a really good boss and plus he gives me extra money some days just to be nice. I mean if you replace him, then you would have to replace me too." She pouts.
